Monday's La Liga action comes from the Balaidos as two struggling sides, Celta Vigo and Cadiz, prepare to lock horns.

It has been a tough start to life in the Celta dugout for Rafael Benitez, with his side languishing in the relegation zone, but they can move out of the bottom three and above their opponents with a victory.

Cadiz will be aiming to put some more distance between themselves and the bottom three with a win, but they are yet to triumph on their travels in La Liga this season.

Celta Vigo vs Cadiz Tips

  • Total Goals - Under 1.5 @ 9/4
  • #PickYourPunt - Both Teams To Score (No) & Over 29.5 Booking Points @ 6/4

Match Odds

Despite finding themselves in the relegation zone, Celta are the 4/7 favourites to pick up just their second league victory of the season, while poor travellers Cadiz are 5/1 outsiders, with the draw available at 3/1.

These two sides rarely provide a feast of goals when they meet, with only one of the last eight encounters seeing both teams find the back of the net. Celta are 7/5 to win this one to nil, with Cadiz priced at 17/2 in the same market.

Team News

Celta have almost a clean bill of health heading into this game, with Ghanaian centre-back Joseph Aidoo the only confirmed absentee - he remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury.

As for Cadiz, their injury-list is slightly more lengthy, with Gonzalo Escalante, Romingue Kouame, Luis Hernandez and Fede San Emeterio all confirmed to miss Monday's trip to Vigo.

Midfielder Robert Navarro is also a major doubt with a muscular issue, but there is better news regarding right-back Iza Carcelen, who is expected to overcome a similar problem to take his place in the starting XI.

Total Goals - Under 1.5 @ 9/4

This is a contest between two struggling sides who have only won three of their combined 28 matches in La Liga this season, so don't expect the goals to flow at the Balaidos.

Cadiz are the lowest scorers in La Liga this season, finding the back of the net just 11 times across their 14 matches to date, with only four of those goals coming on the road.

Celta's scoring record is not much better - they have struck just 14 league goals during 2023-24 - and they head into this game on the back of last weekend's goalless draw at Valencia.

Three of the last five meetings between these two sides have yielded one goal or less, a pattern that may well continue on Monday.

#PickYourPunt - Both Teams To Score (No) & Over 29.5 Booking Points @ 6/4

Given the lack of goals from both these sides this season, as well as the fact that only one of the last eight meetings between the two have seen both teams find the back of the net, it could be worth going with No in the both teams to score market as part of any #PickYourPunt.

The cards market could also be worth looking at, as Cadiz came into this matchday having picked up 43 cautions in La Liga this season - only Granada have more - while their total of four red cards is a divisional high.

Ivan Alejo and Ruben Alcaraz have each been cautioned six times to date and both are in line to feature on Monday, increasing the likelihood that Cadiz could once again go above the 29.5 booking points mark.
