Cardiff City vs Watford Prediction: Hornets could be stung again

Fresh from dumping Sheffield United out of the FA Cup, Cardiff City will be hoping to give their Championship survival hopes a lift at home to an out-of-form Watford on Tuesday evening (19:45, Sky Sports+).
The Hornets have slipped out of Championship play-off contention following four defeats in their last five league matches while their confidence was dealt another knock with a 4-1 hiding away at Fulham in the FA Cup on Thursday. Cardiff City vs Watford Betting Tips
Team News
Cardiff remain without the services of Michael Reindorf, Aaron Ramsey, David Turnbull and Isaak Davies but they are boosted by the return from suspension of Callum Robinson, who has eight goals in 20 appearances this season.
As for Watford, Kevin Keben remains sidelined through injury alongside long-term absentee Tom Dele-Bashiru.
However, having played no part in the recent FA Cup defeat at Fulham, Vakoun Bayo, Moussa Sissoko and Francisco Sierralta are all ready to return while Imran Louza and Kwadwo Baah should also start following their substitute appearances at Craven Cottage.
Having won 2-1 away at Watford at the end of December, Cardiff are 13/10 to complete a Championship double over the Hornets on home soil.
Watford are 2/1 to end a run of four straight defeats while the draw, something that has occurred in Cardiff’s last two league games with Coventry and Middlesbrough, is available at 11/5.
Cardiff City to win @ 11/8
Cardiff remain embroiled in a relegation scrap but they are finding some form under manager Omer Riza and that was evident in Thursday’s 1-0 FA Cup win at Sheffield United, who currently sit third in the Championship title race.
The Bluebirds are also unbeaten in three league games, with their 2-1 win at Watford in December giving them a serious lift prior to respectable 1-1 draws with Coventry and Middlesbrough, the latter of whom also have realistic promotion ambitions.
Cardiff restricted Watford to only one shot on target on that occasion and they should fancy their chances of completing a league double given the Hornets’ current dip in form.
Tom Cleverley’s side have lost four of their last five league matches and they have been utterly dreadful on their Championship travels, taking only eight points from their 12 road trips.

Callum Robinson to score at any time @ 12/5
Robinson has missed Cardiff’s last two matches through suspension but he is their leading scorer and should be hungry to return with a bang against Watford.
That means the 29-year-old ought to be fresher than most and he has grabbed eight goals in 20 appearances for the Bluebirds this season, which includes both strikes in December’s 2-1 win at Watford.
Full of belief, Robinson should get plenty of opportunities to bolster his tally and he did score in three straight home league games against Plymouth, Portsmouth and Norwich between the end of October and the start of November.
