It is a basement battle at Turf Moor on Friday night (KO, 20:00) as Burnley host Luton Town with both clubs in the relegation zone.

But with just over half the season played for most sides, it is Luton who look the more likely of securing survival this term with a game in hand and a four-point advantage over the Clarets, who sit in 19th spot.

Burnley vs Luton Betting Tips:

  • Luton draw no bet @ 13/8
  • Elijah Adebayo to score anytime @ 12/5
  • #PickYourPunt - BTTS, 3 or more goals & each team 3 or more corners @ 13/8

Team News

Sander Berge is back from suspension for the Clarets but they will be without Hjalmar Ekdal and Luca Koleosho, while Charlie Taylor, Jordan Beyer and Lyle Foster are also doubts.

Luton are missing Tom Lockyer and Marvelous Nakamba, while Issa Kabore is away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Match Odds

Hosts Burnley are favourites to win at EVS, while the draw is 5/2 and a win for resurgent visitors Luton is priced at 13/5.

All three of last season's promoted clubs find themselves in the relegation zone heading into the weekend's action but Luton's position is far from disastrous.

After 19 matches, the Hatters have collected 15 points, meaning they are only one point off safety and could move out of the danger zone, at least temporarily, with a win over Burnley.

The home side's situation is a bit more precarious with Burnley having played 20 matches and picked up only 11 points, meaning they are five points from safety and things are looking bleak for Vincent Kompany's men.

Luton are also the form side of the two, having signed off from 2023 with wins in two of their last three games, while they pushed Chelsea close in a 3-2 defeat in the other.

That run included a win away to Sheffield United, showing Luton have the character for these kinds of basement battles and they are worth chancing in the draw-no-bet market at 13/8, whereby stakes are returned in the event of a stalemate.

Elijah Adebayo to score anytime @ 12/5

One player who has been key to Luton's recent resurgence is striker Elijah Adebayo, who is worth a bet at 12/5 to get on the scoresheet at Turf Moor.

Adebayo has scored in four of his last six league games and was also on target in Luton's 2-1 defeat when these sides clashed at Kenilworth Road back in October.

His physical presence should cause plenty of problems for a Burnley team who have leaked 41 goals in 20 league fixtures this season.

#PickYourPunt - BTTS, 3 or more goals & each team 3 or more corners @ 13/8

This looks like a value #PickYourPunt combination for Friday night's game, starting with a bet on both teams to score.

Nine of Luton's last 11 Premier League games have seen both teams find the net and a high-scoring clash could be on the cards in Lancashire.

Sticking with the theme of goals, three or more goals could be another wise selection with Luton's league games averaging 3.15 goals per game this term and Burnley's averaging 3.05 per game.

Complete the #PickYourPunt selection with a bet on each team to have three or more corners.

Burnley rank seventh for corners in the Premier League this term with 110, while Luton are not far behind on 99.

Both teams need to attack this game, knowing how good an opportunity for three points it is, and that should result in plenty of corners.
