Burnley entertain Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon (17:30) as former Clarets boss Sean Dyche returns to Turf Moor for the first time in charge of another club.

This is an important game for both sides given that their aim for the season is to avoid relegation. The Toffees are five points ahead of Vincent Kompany's side heading into the weekend and Dyche, along with fellow ex-Clarets James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil, could come back to haunt their former club.

We've picked out a couple of the best markets on offer for this clash.

Burnley vs Everton Betting Tips

  • Everton - 11/10
  • James Tarkowski to score anytime - 17/2

Match Odds

Burnley are 12/5 to pick up what would only be their third win of the season. A draw is on offer at 5/2, while Everton are 11/10 to come away with a valuable three points.

Both teams to score in this encounter is priced at 4/5. Over 2.5 goals is valued at 10/11.

Team News

Charlie Taylor is unavailable for Burnley this weekend through suspension, after accumulating too many yellow cards. Jack Cork and Luca Koleosho are out through injury, while Lyle Foster is absent due to mental health reasons. Josh Cullen is also a doubt to feature.

Everton duo Idrissa Gueye and Jarrad Branthwaite will also serve one-game suspensions for picking up too many yellow cards. Ashley Young, Andre Gomes and Seamus Coleman are out with physical issues, while Dele Alli also remains out of action.

Everton @ 11/10

Dyche's team have been more impressive than most would have expected heading into the season, especially after two relegation battles in as many campaigns previously. The Toffees were outraged at their 10-point deduction a few weeks ago, but that hasn't let their heads drop.

Everton have picked up an impressive seven wins in the Premier League so far this term and they will be fancying their chances against a side who find victories hard to come by.

Dyche was very much the master of Turf Moor not so long ago, and now his methods are likely going to be used to effect in taking points off his former team. Especially when you consider Burnley have lost seven of their eight home matches in the league in 2023-24.

Everton to beat Burnley at 11/10

James Tarkowski to score anytime @ 17/2

As you can see, we are in huge favour of the scripted storylines in this weekend's reunion, and it is completely in Everton's favour. Just as we're expecting the Clarets' former manager to get one over his former club, we are expecting similar from their ex-defender James Tarkowski, who we are backing to score against his old side.

Tarkowski offers an excellent aerial presence from set-pieces, which Burnley have found very hard to deal with this year. They have conceded six goals from those sorts of situations and only Sheffield United (seven) have conceded more from set-pieces.

The towering centre-half has scored once already in the league this term and we are backing him to double his tally at his former stomping ground on Saturday.
