Burnley will host Bournemouth at Turf Moor on Sunday, March 3 (13:00, Sky Sports Main Event) as they look to keep any faint hopes of Premier League survival alive. Vincent Kompany’s men have amassed a paltry 13 points from 26 games so far, and following Everton’s ten-point deduction being reduced to six, they are now 11 points from safety.

Bournemouth meanwhile will be kicking themselves after going out of the FA Cup in midweek to Championship leaders Leicester City. In a relatively safe position in the league, the cup provided an opportunity for progression, and potentially a day out at Wembley. Instead they crashed out in extra-time after Abdul Fatawa’s 105th-minute strike. Below you can check out our Burnley vs Bournemouth Bet Builder tips as both teams return to Premier League action.

Bournemouth to win

A fairly simple choice to kick things off. The Cherries may not have won in the league since Boxing Day, but having been knocked out of the cup in midweek, will now turn their full attention to picking up points once again. Andoni Iraola’s side in recent weeks have lost narrowly to Manchester City and taken a point from St James’ Park, so I believe that results will turn around soon.

This pick is based more on Burnley’s recent performances than Bournemouth’s form however. The Clarets have lost their last three and not won a game in any competition since December 23. They are heading straight back down to the Championship and have the worst home record in the division. Bournemouth should take all three points at Turf Moor.

Over 2.5 goals

Burnley games tend to have a lot of goals. They conceded three to Crystal Palace, five to Arsenal, three to Liverpool and Man City and two to Fulham in their last five matches. Each of those games ended with over 2.5 goals while two of the last three Bournemouth league fixtures have also ended with this selection coming in. There should be goals and entertainment at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

Antoine Semenyo to score

Dominic Solanke and Enes Unal could both miss this game for Bournemouth through injury. Solanke missed the cup game against Leicester with a knee injury, while Unal was substituted at half-time having picked up his own issue. My thoughts are that both will not be fit enough to start at Turf Moor, and therefore attacking responsibility will fall to Antoine Semenyo.

The former Bristol City forward has only scored four goals this season, but the majority of his work has been done in wide or deep positions. He did score away at Newcastle and has the physicality to lead the line, which is where I believe he will play against Burnley. He actually offers good value to score anytime at 11/5 and I think he could find the net against a leaky defence.

Sander Berge to get booked

Burnley’s most booked player in all competitions this season is combative midfielder Sander Berge. Since joining from Sheffield United last summer, he has picked up seven yellow cards, with three of those coming in his last seven league appearances. Against a tough midfield, he is going to have to continue to put in challenges, and if we add him to get booked to our Bet Builder, our odds are boosted to 18/1.
