Friday night’s offering this week comes from the Championship as Bristol City host Leeds in what should be an attacking and entertaining encounter.

The away side are looking to make it five league wins on the spin after drawing their FA Cup game with Plymouth, while the Robins picked up a creditable point on the road at Coventry City on Tuesday night.

Below we have taken a look at this match-up and put together a preview, with a couple of betting selections, for you to consider.

Bristol City vs Leeds Tips

  • Over 2.5 goals @ 4/5
  • Leeds to win and BTTS @ 5/2

Team News

Bristol City were without Scott Twine for the trip to Coventry, and he could miss this one as well after picking up a quad injury. Liam Manning also remains without Kal Naismith, Rob Atkinson and Mark Sykes, while Tommy Conway and Matty James are expected to start given the short amount of time between these games.

Leeds meanwhile, are without Pascal Strujik and Stuart Dallas, but the five players who were rested against Plymouth, including Crysencio Summerville and Dan James, should return.

Match Odds

Bristol City are 4/1 to win this match, while Leeds are priced at 4/6. A draw can be backed at 11/4, BTTS is 4/5 and over 2.5 goals is the same price.

Over 2.5 goals @ 4/5

This game should be an enthralling clash between two sides who love to attack. Bristol City fans had been worried about their goalscoring ability in recent weeks, however, they scored twice at Coventry and looked threatening throughout. With Conway, in my opinion their best striker, likely to start this one, their attacking output should be even higher against a Leeds team who only know one way of playing.

Daniel Farke will head to Ashton Gate with the hope of putting a marker down, as Leeds chase down the top two. They could climb into the top two with a win here, ahead of Ipswich Town’s and Southampton’s matches this weekend. Putting the pressure onto those teams will be crucial, and Leeds have the attacking ability to tear any Championship team apart. Over 2.5 goals at 4/5 feels like a sensible pick to start us off.

BTTSLEEDS

Leeds to win and BTTS @ 5/2

I’ve actually been really impressed with Liam Manning and Bristol City over the last month. They’ve progressed as a side, and their attacking wing-backs carry a huge amount of threat. The signing of Taylor Gardner-Hickman is a brilliant one, and Twine should help them progress towards the play-offs over the rest of the season.

I think they will give Leeds a run for their money, but ultimately, the away side should have too much quality for them. There’s so much talent and attacking ability in Farke’s side, it is frightening and they are able to dismantle Championship defences at will. I’m expecting a high-scoring game, with Leeds eventually taking all three points.
