Brighton vs Wolves Odds

Brighton are 8/15 to win the match in normal time and 2/7 to reach the next round. The draw, meaning a penalty shootout, can be backed at 3/1. Wolves are 9/2 to win without need of spot-kicks and 5/2 to advance by any means.

Both teams to score is an 8/11 chance and over 2.5 goals is priced up at 4/6.

Team News

Joao Pedro (knock) and Mats Wiefer (minor injury) are doubts and could be held back until Brighton’s weekend match at home to Nottingham Forest. Brajan Gruda (unspecified injury), James Milner (hamstring), Solly March (knee) and Matt O'Riley (ankle) are expected to miss out.

Andre and Rayan Ait Nouri were forced off during Wolves's 2-1 loss at home to Newcastle and are doubts. Bastien Meupiyou and Sasa Kalajdzic (both knee) are ruled out and Boubacar Traore (knee) and Toti Gomes (thigh) are doubts.

Brighton to win both halves @ 7/5

Brighton had to endure a frustrating experience when drawing 0-0 at home to Ipswich on Saturday but are likely to be quick out of the blocks in their EFL Cup third round tie at home to Wolves and can register a fairly comfortable victory.

The Seagulls made wholesale changes for their EFL Cup second round tie at home to League One Crawley and ran out 4-0 winners.

However, Fabian Hurzeler is likely to go with a stronger selection against Wolves and has a little extra wriggle room because his team are not back in Premier League action until Sunday’s fixture at home to Nottingham Forest.

Wolves must cope with a quicker turnaround because they are going through a period of three games in seven days.

The Black Country side face a trip to Midlands rivals Aston Villa on Saturday and their manager, Gary O’Neil, may feel he has little choice other than to protect some of his senior men.

Wolves picked up injuries to Andre and Rayan Ait Nouri during Sunday’s 2-1 loss at home to Newcastle and their squad is looking stretched.

O’Neil’s side have had a poor start to the season and their struggles look set to continue.

Bet Builder - Brighton to win, Evan Ferguson to score first & Wolves under 1.5 goals @ 13/2

Brighton have been taking things slowly with their 19-year-old striker Evan Ferguson, who has been working his way back to fitness after an ankle injury.

However, they introduced Ferguson from the bench for Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Ipswich and are likely to use him from the start against Wolves.

Ferguson will be hungry to make up for lost time and could make a swift impact by breaking the deadlock. And injury-hit Wolves may struggle to find much of a response.

They have scored just one goal on their last three road trips and are unlikely to net more than once at the Amex.
