Everton are looking to snap a streak of eight Premier League games without a win when they head to the Amex Stadium on Saturday, but could struggle against a Brighton side who are unbeaten in their last 11 home matches.

The Seagulls have scored four goals in two of their last three home matches and can be formidable opponents on their own patch, although they will have to be at their best as the Toffees will be motivated after sensationally winning this fixture 5-1 last season.

Brighton moved up to seventh after their 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United last Sunday and should be too strong for their 17th-placed visitors.

Brighton vs Everton Prediction

  • Brighton to win and over 2.5 goals @ 8/5
  • Simon Adingra to score anytime @ 2/1

Team news

The Seagulls will be without their top scorer Joao Pedro for the visit of Everton as well as James Milner, Julio Enciso, Solly March and Jack Hinshelwood.

Andre Gomes is set to be out for at least a couple more weeks so is absent alongside Arnaut Danjuma and Dele Alli. Captain Seamus Coleman missed the Crystal Palace game while Vitaliy Mykolenko was forced off with a knock in that match, but both full-backs are expected to recover in time to feature.

Match Odds

Brighton are 5/6 favourites for this clash, with Everton 16/5 shots and the draw, which landed in the reverse fixture, 11/4.

Over 2.5 goals looks a likely outcome and can be backed at 4/6, while both teams to score has been a winning bet in the last four meetings between the pair and has been chalked up at 8/13.

With Joao Pedro out, Evan Ferguson or Danny Welbeck will lead the line for the Seagulls and they are both 6/1 to open the scoring, along with Adingra, while Everton’s sole striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is 15/2 to get the ball rolling.

Brighton to win and over 2.5 goals @ 8/5

Despite Brighton’s overall struggles for consistency, they have excelled at home this term, avoiding defeat in their last 11 games at the Amex Stadium and recording wins over Spurs, Bournemouth and Marseille in that sequence.

That run should be extended on Saturday against an Everton side who have failed to win any of their last eight games, and it could be one-way traffic in East Sussex.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have found their scoring mojo again, netting five in two matches against Sheffield United as well as putting four past highflying Spurs and rivals Crystal Palace.

Everton have faced 63 shots in their past four games, allowing 25 against Fulham and 10 against the managerless Eagles, suggesting the Seagulls could net a few on Saturday against a leaky defence.

Brighton’s last five matches have gone over 2.5 goals and backing the same outcome alongside a home win could prove to be a profitable play.

Simon Adingra to score anytime @ 2/1

A player who could enjoy facing a Toffees team prone to conceding plenty of shots is Brighton forward Simon Adingra, who was recently named Best Young Player at the Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament his Ivory Coast side won.

He was named man of the match in the final and carried that momentum into his club form when netting a brace against Sheffield United in his first appearance since returning from the tournament, and he could have a big part to play against Everton.
