The M23 derby takes place in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon (15:00) as Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Crystal Palace to the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls were left stunned in midweek as they were hammered 4-0 by Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. They have now just won three of their last 16 in the top-flight.

Palace head into this one off the back of a 3-2 win over Sheffield United and they will be relishing playing their rivals after their Luton thrashing.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips

  • Both teams to score - 8/11
  • Evan Ferguson to score anytime - 6/4

Match Odds

Brighton are perceived as the favourites in this clash at 4/6. A draw can be backed at 3/1, while 4/1 is the price for a Crystal Palace win.

Both teams to score is available at 8/11 and over 2.5 goals is valued at 4/6.

Team News

In the embarrassing defeat to Luton, Brighton picked up two more injuries in James Milner and Joao Pedro, with both doubts to feature here. Julio Enciso, Solly March, Ansu Fati and Joel Veltman remain in the treatment room.

Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra are both on international duty for Japan and Ivory Coast respectively.

Palace will be sweating over the fitness of key duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze after both couldn't complete 90 minutes against the Blades in the week. Joel Ward, Cheick Doucoure and Rob Holding are sidelined through injury. New signing Daniel Munoz could be in line to make his debut.

Both teams to score @ 8/11

This feels like a sensible selection to make because trying to call a result for this one right now is very difficult. This is down to both sides finding victories hard to come by this season, and they consistently blow hot and cold.

While Brighton were a defensive shambles against the Hatters, they still have quality within their squad to hurt teams, and they will be desperate to deliver a response this weekend.

Even if top scorer Joao Pedro is missing, it would give young Evan Ferguson to show Roberto De Zerbi why he deserves more game time. The Irishman has six goals in the league already this term but starts have been difficult to come by due to his team mate's form.

Of course this selection is strengthened if Eze and Olise feature, too. They carry the Eagles' biggest attacking threat and anything positive that Palace do on the pitch goes through them.

Both sets of defences have been vulnerable this term, and in a derby game, you'd expect the goals to fly in. Especially when BTTS has landed in 10 of their last 12 Premier League meetings.

Evan Ferguson to score anytime @ 6/4

Should Joao Pedro be sidelined this weekend, Ferguson will be called up to lead the line alongside Danny Welbeck and he will be eager to put in a good performance so that he can earn more minutes in the Premier League.

No one can doubt his talent and potential but it seems as though the 18-year-old is being protected by De Zerbi as much as Joao Pedro's form has kept him out of the team.

Ferguson has gone without a league goal since November, and so we feel that he is long overdue one. And with him likely to get a lengthy run out against the Eagles, we like the 6/4 price for him to get on the scoresheet here.

Evan Ferguson to score anytime at 6/4
