Team News

Brentford duo Paris Maghoma and Gustavo Nunes are facing a race to be fit for Saturday's contest, while the availability of Reiss Nelson remains unclear after the former Arsenal man missed the trip to Fulham last week.

However, Mikkel Damsgaard returned from illness against the Cottagers, scoring the Bees' only goal in the 3-1 defeat. Kevin Schade is expected to lead the line alongside Igor Thiago once again this weekend, while former Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson will retain his place in midfield.

As for the visitors, Lisandro Martinez remains a long-term absentee, however fellow defender Diogo Dalot could return here after a muscle injury ruled him out of the fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea.

Casemiro will be suspended for the trip to the capital after his sending off against Chelsea, meaning that one of Manuel Ugarte or Kobbie Mainoo will line up alongside Bruno Fernandes in midfield.

Matheus Cunha could return to the starting XI after coming off the bench last time out, and Bryan Mbeumo is expected to start against his former employers.

Brentford vs Manchester United Predicted Line-ups

  • Manchester United: Bayindir; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Sesko

Brentford vs Manchester United Odds

Brentford are 12/5 to win on Saturday, with United priced up at 11/10, giving them an implied win probability of 47.6% and the draw is a 11/4 shot.

Cunha currently leads the anytime goalscorer market at 7/5, along with Benjamin Sesko, while former Brentford forward Mbeumo is 9/5 to score anytime against his old side.

Thiago, who has two Premier League goals to his name this season, is the shortest-priced for the hosts at 13/8.

Brentford vs Manchester United Stats

  • Brentford have won one and drawn two of their three home games so far this term
  • Manchester United haven't won away from home domestically since April

Match Result - Draw @ 11/4

Brentford's start to the season hasn't been the best, but that was to be expected considering long-term manager Thomas Frank moved onto pastures new, along with star players Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa over the summer.

However, as mentioned in the introduction, the Bees are unbeaten at home in all competitions so far this term, and they'll fancy their chances against an inconsistent Manchester United outfit.

The Red Devils managed to ease some of the scrutiny on boss Ruben Amorim with a scrappy 2-1 win over Chelsea last time out, but their away form under the Portuguese manager doesn't make for great reading. They've won three, drawn five and lost eight in the Premier League under Amorim, with those victories coming against Manchester City, Fulham and Leicester City.

United will take confidence from their win against Chelsea, but Brentford's strong early home form sets up an intriguing clash here, and we're backing the spoils to be shared.

Bryan Mbeumo to score anytime @ 9/5

All eyes will be on Mbeumo on Saturday as he looks to make the difference against his former side.

The forward left west London to join the Red Devils over the summer for a club-record fee and has scored twice so far this season. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old has looked lively, injecting pace and power into United's forward line.

Despite having just one league goal to his name, it hasn't been for a lack of trying. The Cameroon international is averaging three shots per game this term, so should get opportunities to strike at the Gtech Stadium this weekend.
