Brentford vs Manchester City Prediction: Bees could be worth backing

A revitalised Manchester City are looking for a fourth win on the trot as they travel to the Gtech Community Stadium to face Brentford on Tuesday night (19:30, live on TNT Sports 2).
Pep Guardiola's side stuck eight goals without reply past Salford City in the FA Cup at the weekend, whereas the Bees suffered a shock third-round defeat at the hands of Plymouth Argyle, and will be looking to make amends here. Read on for my Brentford vs Manchester City prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.
Brentford vs Manchester City Betting Tips
Team News
Brentford's injury list continues to grow, as Josh Dasilva, Ethan Pinnock, Kristoffer Ajer, Ben Mee, Aaron Hickey, Igor Thiago, Gustavo Nunes and Ryan Trevitt remain on the treatment table.
Rico Henry made his first appearance in 16 months for the Bees in the shock defeat to Plymouth, so he could feature against the champions.
As for City, the likes of Rodri, Ruben Dias, Oscar Bobb and John Stones remain unavailable for selection on Tuesday, while Kyle Walker could also be absent after Guardiola confirmed that the right-back had put in a transfer request.
Brentford vs Manchester City Odds
Brentford are 18/5 to continue their fine home form in the league, while City are 4/6 to claim a fourth successive victory across all competitions, giving them and implied win probability of 60%. The draw can be backed at 7/2, and over 2.5 goals is priced up at 4/11 if you think there could be several in this one.
Erling Haaland tops the anytime goalscorer market at 4/6, while Bryan Mbeumo is shortest-priced for the hosts at 15/8.
Double Chance - Brentford or Draw @ 6/5
While the Bees were stunned by Plymouth at the weekend, and despite recent home defeats against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal, their record at the Gtech Community Stadium shouldn't be overlooked.
They have taken 22 points from a possible 30 in front of their own fans and have scored 27 goals in this period, and although City have had a mini-resurgence in recent weeks, their away form still leaves a lot to be desired.
Prior to victory at the King Power Stadium on December 29, they had drawn one and lost seven of their previous eight competitive away games. In addition, the visitors have conceded exactly twice in seven of their last nine on the road.
Thomas Frank's side did the league double over City back in 2022/23 and look decent value to get a point or more on Tuesday, which is why I'm backing Double Chance - Brentford or Draw.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Bryan Mbeumo to score anytime @ 15/8
Mbeumo looks a likely candidate to score on Tuesday night, as the 25-year-old has been in excellent form since the turn of the year.
The Brentford marksman has scored three times and recorded an assist in his last two Premier League outings for Frank's side, and he should be raring to go here after starting on the bench against Plymouth at the weekend.
In addition, Mbeumo now has 13 goals to his name in the league this term, and he'll be hoping to build on his brace against Southampton last time out.
