Brentford take on AFC Bournemouth at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday (15:00) in the Premier League looking to bounce back from their late defeat against Fulham. The Bees were winning as the game went into injury time, only to conceded twice in the space of five minutes.

The Cherries will be flying high after defeating reigning champions Manchester City last time out as their unbeaten run in the top-flight has stretched to three matches. Read on for my Brentford vs AFC Bournemouth prediction, alongside the latest match odds and team news.

Brentford vs AFC Bournemouth Betting Tips

  • Draw or Bournemouth and both teams to score @ 6/5
  • Bet Builder - Bryan Mbeumo and Evanilson to score anytime @ 11/2

Brentford vs AFC Bournemouth Odds

Brentford are 6/4 to get back to winning ways here, which gives them an implied probability of 40%. Bournemouth are priced at 9/5 to take the three points, giving them a theoretical chance of 35.7%. The draw is marketed at 13/5 (27.8%).

Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 8/15 and both teams to score is available at 4/9.

Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo has eight goals in the Premier League this season, and he is the favourite to score anytime on Saturday at 6/4. His teammate Yoane Wissa has five for himself and he is valued at 7/4 to find the back of the net in this clash.

Antoine Semenyo has scored on four occasions for Bournemouth, including last time out against City. You will find him at 15/8 to score anytime.

Team News

Brentford are missing Gustavo Nunes, Igor Thiago, Aaron Hickey, Josh Dasilva and Rico Henry due to injury, although the latter is nearing a comeback after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Boss Thomas Frank will not want to rush him back because the Bees could really benefit from his return. For now at least, that left-back spot belongs to Sepp van den Bergh.

Frank could welcome back Kristoffer Ajer at the weekend after the defender recently returned to training following a foot injury. After the late collapse against the Cottagers, the Danish coach could be tempted to freshen things up in the attacking areas, with Kevin Schade and Fabio Carvalho pushing for starts.

Either of them could potentially come in for Keane Lewis-Potter, while Mikkel Damsgaard could maintain his place in the side alongside Mbeumo and Wissa.

Bournemouth have a few injuries of their own to contend with heading into the weekend. Midfielder Alex Scott faces a lengthy period of time out after suffering a knee injury. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Luis Sinisterra are also in the medical bay at this moment in time.

Dango Ouatarra missed out against City with an unspecified problem so he could be a doubt to feature once again. Boss Andoni Iraola welcomed back Philip Billing to the squad last week following the Danish midfielder's return from illness.

After beating City, Iraola is unlikely to make many changes, if any, to his side as they bid to win back-to-back matches for the first time in the Premier League this season.

Draw or Bournemouth and both teams to score @ 6/5

I think this could be a cracking game of football between two sides who will feel as though they could finish in the top half of the table this year. Brentford have done it in the past, and while last year was a struggle for them, Frank appears to have fixed most of the problems given the way they have started this campaign.

Bournemouth have shown glimpses since Iraola took the reins from Gary O'Neil but consistency has been an issue for his team. If they get that sorted, they have an excellent chance of finishing in the top 10, and perhaps even higher.

The Cherries will be buoyed by last week's victory so they will be heading to west London fancying themselves to pick up another big result at Brentford. The Bees will still be coming to terms with the defeat to Fulham, having led and largely been in control for most of the match.

Frank and his players will look for an immediate response here, and they do tend to fare much better when playing at home. Brentford haven't lost a league game at the Gtech Community Stadium this season, but I could see Bournemouth becoming the first.

The Cherries are aiming to post consecutive victories for the first time in 2024/25 and they will be sensing an opportunity after the manner in which their hosts fell to defeat in their last outing.

While I can see it happening, I'm not confident enough to solely back them because of the Bees' home form. As such, I think covering double chance with a draw could be the most sensible play for this contest.

I've boosted the odds by adding both teams to score because it has landed in all five of Brentford's home games so far in the top-flight, while three of Bournemouth's matches on the road have seen goals at both ends.

I sense there will be a few goals on offer in this match because of the quality both teams have in attack. This has allowed me to get a bit creative with my second selection by picking players from both sides to score.

Mbeumo is the one I have picked for Brentford because he is their best player and his eight goals in the league is currently only bettered by Man City's Erling Haaland. Having blanked at Fulham, he will be desperate to get back on the scoresheet to help his side get back to winning ways and potentially into the top half of the table.

The player I have picked for Bournemouth is Evanilson. The striker who became their record signing in the summer heads into this game off the back of scoring two goals in as many matches against Aston Villa and Man City.

The Brazilian now has three goals in the league and he looks to be finding his feet after a slow start to his career in Dorset. His confidence will have grown from the last two matches, and I think he will become a much bigger attacking threat for the Cherries as a result.

I sense he will cause Brentford's defence some problems, and I can see him netting for a third consecutive match.
