Brentford host Manchester City on Monday Night Football (20:00) at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Bees claimed a stunning double over the defending champions last season, but they come into this game off the back of a 3-2 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, while the visitors have won 10 of their past 11 games across all competitions.

Brentford vs Man City Prediction

  • Man City to win and both teams to score @ 9/5
  • Ivan Toney to score anytime @ 11/5

Team News

Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry remain on the treatment table for Brentford, while attacking duo Bryan Mbeumo and Kevin Schade will be missing too. Frank Onyeka and Yoane Wissa both remain away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

As for City, Pep Guardiola is expected to have a fully fit squad to pick from, as Manuel Akanji has fully recovered from a knee injury.

Match Odds

Brentford are 7/1 to claim all three points, the draw is 4/1 and City are heavy favourites to win at 4/11.

Man City to win and both teams to score @ 9/5

City enter this match in brilliant form, having won their last eight matches, and 10 of their previous 11 since they were last beaten at Aston Villa in early December.

Pep Guardiola has also seen his side score at least two goals in 10 of their last 11 matches, although when you delve a little deeper, you can see that they're vulnerable defensively.

Their only clean sheet in their past 11 Premier League games came at home to bottom side Sheffield United – they’ve conceded to Burnley, Luton, Everton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in that run.

Man City to win and btts at 9-5

Ivan Toney to score anytime @ 11/5

With City being prone to conceding a goal or two, Ivan Toney will no doubt pose a huge threat on Monday night, and he's scored in both of the two games he’s played since returning from an eight-month ban for gambling offences.

As mentioned above, the Bees memorably did the double over Man City last season and while I can’t see them replicating that feat, Thomas Frank's side certainly won't fear the defending Premier League champions like other sides might.

Ivan Toney to score anytime at 11-5
