Brentford have been dropping down the Premier League table following a sequence of only two wins in their last 16 matches, but the Bees could claim three precious points at home to an inconsistent Brighton on Wednesday (KO, 19:30).

Below is our Brentford vs Brighton prediction, complete with all the latest team news and match odds ahead of this clash at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Brentford vs Brighton Betting Tips

  • Brentford to win @ 7/5
  • Ivan Toney to score first @ 4/1

It is hard to see Brentford going down but they do find themselves only five points clear of the relegation zone following a seven-game winless run.

However, there were plenty of positives to take from their latest 1-1 draw with Manchester United and they will be optimistic about building on that when entertaining Brighton.

The Seagulls are becoming difficult to predict, having won only four of their last 14 league matches, and they have to pick themselves up from a 2-1 defeat at title-chasing Liverpool on Sunday.

Team News

Bryan Mbeumo has returned to action in recent weeks with substitute appearances against Burnley and Manchester United and looks set to return to Brentford’s starting line-up.

On-loan defender Sergio Reguilon returns from suspension but Ethan Pinnock, Christian Norgaard, Aaron Hickey and Kevin Schade are missing through injury.

Rico Henry, Josh Dasilva and Ben Mee, meanwhile, are out for the remainder of the season.

For Brighton, Billy Gilmour, Solly March, Kaoru Mitoma, James Milner and Jack Hinshelwood are still sidelined, but Joao Pedro and Julio Enciso could return from injury.

Match Odds

Brentford are 7/5 to snap a seven-game winless run while Brighton are 7/4 to heap more misery on the Bees. It is 11/4 for the contest to end all-square and 4/9 for both teams to score.

Brentford to win @ 7/5

Brentford are in need of a victory to stop any fears of them being dragged into a relegation scrap and this looks an excellent opportunity for them to do so against Brighton, who have won only one of their last nine away league games.

The Bees have failed to win in seven but they were extremely unfortunate in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with the Red Devils.

Hosts Brentford may have equalised in the final moments through Kristoffer Ajer but they were utterly dominant throughout and won the shot count 31-11.

Thomas Frank’s side hit the woodwork four times and, with Ivan Toney and Mbeumo back vying for starting places alongside Neal Maupay and Yoane Wissa, Brentford look extremely dangerous going forwards.

Brighton have lost six of their last seven away games in all competitions and they look there for the taking on their trip to the capital.

Ivan Toney to score first @ 4/1

Since returning from suspension, Toney has netted four goals in 11 appearances and he should have bolstered that tally against United last time out.

The England international had nine shots against the Red Devils and on that evidence he could be a strong play to open the scoring against Brighton, who have plenty to prove on their travels.

Toney has a decent record against the Seagulls, netting three goals in four meetings which includes opening the scoring in this home fixture last season.

Betfred are running their famed Double Delight & Hat-trick Heaven offer on this match, meaning that if a player scores first and then nets again, you will be paid at double the odds. If he grabs a hat-trick, you will be paid at treble the odds!
