We’ve got another important Premier League fixture coming our way on Saturday as Bournemouth host Brentford (17:30, Sky Sports Main Event). The Cherries are now winless in their last three and have fallen away from the European places down to ninth, while Brentford are down in 12th.

Andoni Iraola will be hoping to get back to winning ways on the South Coast, and below you can find my Bournemouth vs Brentford predictions.

Brentford vs Bournemouth Betting Tips

  • Draw and BTTS @ 7/2
  • Yoane Wissa to score anytime @ 2/1

Team News

The Cherries will be sweating on the fitness of Antoine Semenyo after he came off injured against Tottenham late on, but it is thought he was only suffering from cramp and should be fit to return. Ryan Christie is still managing a groin injury and couldn’t manage the full 90 so it will be interesting to see if he starts again, while Ilya Zabarnyi is back having served a three-game suspension.

He should come back into the heart of the defence which would allow James Hill to move to right-back and Lewis Cook could be reinstated into the midfield. Enes Unal, Marcos Senesi, Adam Smith and Julian Araujo are all still sidelined.

Thomas Frank has Gustavo Nunes, Josh Dasilva, Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry and Igor Thiago all missing, while Fabio Carvalho dislocated his shoulder and will miss this weekend. On a positive note, Sepp van den Berg should be on track to return to the squad, while Michael Kayode is likely to miss out once again.

Frank may choose to stick with the XI that lost 1-0 to Aston Villa last weekend, with Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Kevin Schade set to start as the front three once again.

Bournemouth vs Brentford Odds

Bournemouth are priced at 8/11 to win this game, giving them an implied win probability of 57%. Brentford can be backed at 100/30 having only won four away games this term, while a draw is priced at 16/5.

Over 2.5 goals is 4/9 having come in during 64% of Brentford’s matches so far, while BTTS is 1/2. Evanilson is 9/2 to open the scoring at the Vitality Stadium, having scored six goals this term.

Draw and BTTS @ 7/2

I think there is fantastic value in backing the draw in this game, given the state of both teams right now. I’m not comfortable with backing Bournemouth at odds-on, given the recent form they have shown, while the Bees have beaten West Ham 1-0 on the road, drawn 1-1 with Everton and lost 1-0 to Aston Villa in recent weeks.

That shows the level they are playing at right now, and while they also thumped Leicester City 4-0, that win came against a poor relegation-threatened outfit. They should be able to go to Bournemouth and secure a point, while I’m also going to back both teams to score in this one.

BTTS has come in during 64% of Brentford’s matches and 61% of Bournemouth’s, putting them both above average in the Premier League. With a lot of quality on show, I think a score draw is the most likely outcome.

Yoane Wissa to score anytime @ 2/1

Yoane Wissa has scored 13 goals in 25 Premier League appearances this season, finding the net twice in his last three matches. He failed to score against Villa last time out but that’s not going to put me off backing the man who has perfectly filled Ivan Toney’s boots this term.

He is now just two goal involvements short of 50 direct contributions in the Premier League, as he currently sits on 39 goals and nine assists. Bournemouth haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last five outings, so let’s pick out Wissa to take full advantage.
