Borussia Dortmund host Sturm Graz at Signal Iduna Park in the Champions League on Tuesday night, looking to bounce back from their 5-2 defeat against Real Madrid last time out. The Black and Yellows were 2-0 up at the Santiago Bernabeu before collapsing as Los Blancos completed an incredible comeback.

Sturm Graz are yet to earn a point in Europe with three straight defeats, and they will find it difficult trying to win here given Dortmund's strong home form. Read on for my Borussia Dortmund vs Sturm Graz prediction, accompanied by the latest match odds and team news.

Borussia Dortmund vs Sturm Graz Betting Tips

  • Borussia Dortmund and both teams to score @ 11/8
  • Jamie Bynoe-Gittens anytime goalscorer @ 2/1

Borussia Dortmund vs Sturm Graz Odds

Borussia Dortmund are 1/6 to win this encounter, which gives them a theoretical chance of 85.7%. Sturm Graz are valued at 14/1 to pull off an upset, giving them an implied probability of 6.7%. The draw is marketed at 13/2 (13.3%).

Over 2.5 goals is available at 1/3 and both teams to score can be backed at 5/6.

Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy has scored three times in the Champions League so far, and he is priced at 100/30 to open the scoring on Tuesday night.

Team News

Dortmund are going through a bit of an injury crisis right now, with boss Nuri Sahin unable to call upon the services of Gregor Kobel, Julian Ryerson, Niklas Sule, Yan Couto and Waldemar Anton for any of his base positions.

As such, the Black and Yellows could line up with veteran midfielder Pascal Groß as a makeshift right-back, while Emre Can could drop into the heart of defence to support Nico Schlotterbeck. Midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is not expected back until later this month.

In attack, Karim Adeyemi, Giovanni Reyna and Julien Duranville are unavailable. Guirassy looks set to lead the line again, and he will likely be supported by Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Cole Campbell.

For Sturm Graz, midfielder Jon Gorenc-Stankovic has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, while defensive duo Alexander Borkovic and Gregory Wuthrich are also ruled out for this match.

Borussia Dortmund and both teams to score @ 11/8

Dortmund may be experiencing a lot of injuries right now, but I am still confident that they still have enough within their ranks to come away with another victory, especially against a side that have lost every game in the Champions League so far.

Then there is the small fact that the Black and Yellows have a 100 per cent record at home this season in all competitions. Those six wins have also seen Dortmund produce 21 goals, largely thanks to the seven they fired past Celtic last month.

Dortmund will be full of confidence despite their personnel issues, as they have been making Signal Iduna Park a fortress. With the greatest respect to Sturm Graz, better teams have gone there and tried to pick up a win, and they all failed.

Sahin knows that games at this moment in time are going to be troublesome due to the lack of options available to him, but he is still able to pick two of his biggest Champions League performers on Tuesday in Guirassy and Bynoe-Gittens.

The two attacking players have both scored three goals in Europe so far, with Guirassy the overwhelming favourite to score anytime in this match at 8/11. Given the fact that he has eight goals in all competitions this season already, including two in his last three Bundesliga appearances, he heads into this match full of confidence.

The striker will be relishing to face a side low on confidence right now, and I believe he can play his part in helping Dortmund's perfect home record staying intact.

However, I can see Sturm Graz getting on the scoresheet in this one, so I've added both teams to score to enhance the odds. With the likelihood that we will see a couple of players playing in secondary positions, the visitors will be sensing that there will be an opportunity to get in on the action.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens anytime goalscorer @ 2/1

Seeing as there isn't much value to be had in backing Guirassy to find the back of the net against Sturm Graz, I've decided to go with Dortmund's joint-leading marksman in Europe, Bynoe-Gittens.

The English winger has enjoyed an excellent start to the season, although he would probably have liked more goals in the Bundesliga than the two he has mustered so far, which came right at the start of the campaign against Eintracht Frankfurt.

He also has a brace in the Champions League which came against Club Brugge, and he was then on the scoresheet at the Bernabeu against the masters of this competition, Real Madrid.

Due to his club's injury crisis, he is almost guaranteed a start against Sturm Graz, and I believe he can have a huge impact in front of goal.
