Blackburn vs Blackpool Prediction: Rovers’ unbeaten run to continue

Blackburn Rovers welcome Blackpool to Ewood Park on Tuesday (19:45, Sky Sports+) in the second round of the Carabao Cup. The hosts thumped Stockport County 6-1 in the previous round and they are also unbeaten in the Championship.
The Tangerines were 4-0 winners over Burton Albion in the first round, but they have picked up just one point from their first three matches in League 1. Read on for my Blackburn vs Blackpool prediction, including match odds and team news.

Team News
Harry Leonard and Scott Wharton remain sidelined for Blackburn through injury. John Eustace could bring the likes of Makhtar Gueye, Andreas Weimann, Danny Batth and John Buckley into the starting XI for this one to rest some players who started the win over Oxford United at the weekend.
Arnor Sigurdsson was the match-winner at the weekend from the bench, and he could once again start in the Carabao Cup.
The Tangerines are set to be without Albie Morgan again, who has been absent for them in all four matches played so far this campaign. Richard O'Donnell will continue in between the sticks following Dan Grimshaw's transfer to Plymouth Argyle.
Blackburn and both teams to score @ 11/5
Rovers have started the season brilliantly and they have won both of their matches played at home so far. I think this run will continue on Tuesday because they are facing a struggling Blackpool side which has already seen its manager sacked.
Neil Critchley was dismissed after their second league match following two defeats to start the campaign. Richard Keogh has taken temporary charge for now, and while his side collected a point at the weekend against Cambridge, I think they will face another defeat here.
I think they can get on the scoresheet because there have been two occasions already where they have produced four-goal displays in all competitions, but because they have conceded nine goals already this term, I think Rovers will be able to profit against a shaky defence.
Makhtar Gueye anytime goalscorer @ 7/5
I thought Gueye would open his Rovers account at the weekend but the wait goes on. I think there is stronger reason to back him on this occasion because it looks likely that he will start, and of course there is the fact that he will be up against a vulnerable back line.
He is having an impact in the final third for Blackburn despite waiting for his first goal. The Senegalese forward has provided two assists in three games so far, but I do think it is only a matter of time before he opens his account.
Blackpool have conceded seven times in their last two outings, which should give him all the confidence he needs.
