Birmingham City welcome Southampton to St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park in the Championship on Saturday afternoon (15:00).

The Blues fell to a defeat against the Saints' promotion rivals Ipswich Town last weekend, while the visitors were beaten by strugglers Millwall on home soil.

Both will look for a response here and this result could have an impact at both ends of the table.

Birmingham vs Southampton Betting Tips

  • Birmingham or draw - 19/20
  • Both teams to score - 4/7

Match Odds

Birmingham are 3/1 to pick up the three points here. Southampton are valued at 5/6 to end their two-game losing streak with a win. The draw can be backed at 11/4.

Both teams to score is priced at 4/7 and over 2.5 goals is 8/13.

Team News

Birmingham are without midfielder Alfie Chang, who is unlikely to feature for the rest of the season. Alex Pritchard and George Hall could be in contention to make the squad after their own injury issues in recent weeks.

Ryan Fraser, Ross Stewart and Juan Larios are sidelined through injury for Southampton.

Birmingham or draw @ 19/20

Despite falling to a defeat at Portman Road, Birmingham gave a good account of themselves against the Tractor Boys, particularly in the second half. Being back on home soil could play into their hands against the Saints.

They have won their last two at St Andrew's against Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers, and will look to continue their impressive form here to help ease their relegation concerns.

Southampton will also be fired up for this one having lost two in a row and needing to keep up momentum in the race for promotion. They may experience some fatigue, however, after travelling to Liverpool on Wednesday for their FA Cup fifth-round tie. This could also work in Birmingham's favour.

But given the quality that Southampton have, we are not confident in backing the Blues to win. We think insurance is wise here with the double chance market, and the home crowd will certainly have a part to play in this one.

Birmingham or draw at 19/20

Both teams to score @ 4/7

We are confident that there will be goals in this clash on Saturday. Birmingham have scored in their last three league appearances. As for the visitors, you have to go back to September to find the last time they failed to score in a Championship fixture.

BTTS has landed in four of the Saints' last five in the league and in Birmingham's last two.

The visitors boast more firepower in attack with the likes of former Birmingham star Che Adams and Adam Armstrong, but the Blues have their own stars in Jay Stansfield, Koji Miyoshi, Jordan James, Siriki Dembele and Juninho Bacuna, who have all scored on multiple occasions this term.

Both teams to score at 4/7
