Football Bet of the Day: Diaz to star in Europe

Liverpool are in Europa League action on Thursday night (20:00) as they welcome LASK to Anfield. The Reds have already secured their progression to the knockout stage so Jurgen Klopp could make quite a few changes to the side that drew with Manchester City at the weekend.

One player who we are expecting to feature in Europe is Luis Diaz, and there is a market surrounding him which we have selected as our bet of the day.

Diaz has had a tough start to the season both on and off the field. He's not been in the goalscoring form that he has been in before and of course the terrible ordeal of having to deal with his parents being kidnapped back in Colombia.

Now he's reunited with them and the club have flown them over for Christmas, Diaz will be wanting to put on a show for them as they will get to watch him play in person over the festive period.

The winger has scored four goals this season across all competitions, with one coming in the Europa League. That was against LASK in the reverse fixture back in September, with Diaz also registering an assist in that game.

With that in mind, he will be feeling confident ahead of getting another run out against the Austrian outfit on Thursday. Diaz has started in all but one of the Reds' four Europa League clashes so far this term, and after starting on the bench against Liverpool, Klopp will likely return him to the lineup against LASK.

This game will serve as an excellent opportunity for the Colombian to rediscover his excellent form that made him one of the most exciting attacking players to watch in the Premier League.

Liverpool are showing that they have what it takes to battle with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title and to do that, Klopp will need his attacking players to share the goal burden, which Mohamed Salah is carrying the most at the moment.

Diaz has the quality to reach double figures for goals this season, and they could be a huge help both in Europe and in the league. As we begin to enter a crunch period in the race for the Premier League title, Diaz's contributions will be vitally important.
