Our Football Bet of the Day for Thursday April 11 comes from the Europa League on another big European night at Anfield as Liverpool host Atalanta in a quarter-final first-leg clash (20:00, TNT Sports 1).

After taking a closer look at this match-up on Merseyside, we’ve come up with our Football Bet of the Day, which should see goals at both ends and a certain Liverpool star get on the scoresheet in a home victory. Here’s how we think this one could play out.

With a fierce Premier League title race going on in the background, Liverpool turn their attention to Europa League action on Thursday against Atalanta.

Jurgen Klopp would like nothing more than to leave with another European medal round his neck before departing Anfield at the end of the season.

Atalanta stand between Liverpool and a place in the semi-finals, with these sides preparing for a reunion after previously meeting in the Champions League back the 2020/21 season.

Liverpool ran out 5-0 winners in Bergamo before suffering a surprise 2-0 defeat to the Serie A outfit at Anfield.

The Reds will be looking for revenge after that loss on home turf, but La Dea should have their moments in this contest.

Liverpool have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven games in all competitions and the visitors have the attacking threats needed to get on the scoresheet on Thursday.

Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners is the club’s leading goalscorer in Serie A this season with 11, while the pair of Gianluca Scamacca and Ademola Lookman have eight goals respectively.

Liverpool’s mistakes at the back have been costly at times but, while Atalanta might be able to find the back of the net at Anfield, the hosts should still come out on top.

Liverpool have won 22 of their 25 matches at Anfield this season and their fine home form should continue this week.

The Reds impressed in an 11-2 aggregate win over Sparta Prague in the last round and, while they are unlikely to dispatch Atalanta by such a substantial total, Klopp’s side should have too much quality for La Dea.

Having scored at Atalanta when these teams met in the Champions League, Mohamed Salah will be hoping to strike again on Thursday.

Having scored 17 goals in the Premier League this season, Salah has also contributed four goals on Liverpool’s way to the Europa League quarter-finals.

Salah has netted in four of the Reds’ last five games in all competitions and the Egyptian star can strike again as part of this #PickYourPunt selection, which comes in at 13/5.
