Saturday offers a whole host of football, and we’ve taken a look at some League Two action to come up with our Football Bet of the Day. Accrington host Wrexham at 15:00, and we think the away side can continue their good form.

Football Bet of the Day - Saturday 18th November

  • Wrexham to win and over 3.5 goals @ 7/4

Wrexham have truly impressed me this season. I was less keen on them than many at the start of the season, just because of the step up they were making into an ultra-competitive division. Notts County, Wrexham and Stockport County are also elite teams at this level, and the Hatters are on a remarkable winning run that could carry them to the title.

However, Wrexham are also proving to be incredibly strong at this level, and their current winning run has also been impressive. They’ve won five on the bounce in all competitions, and are unbeaten across their last 11 matches, since that 5-0 hammering at Edgeley Park.

The resilience they’ve shown since then to get back on track has been impressive, and they seem to have calmed down since the start of the campaign. They experienced a 5-5 draw with Swindon, a 5-3 defeat to MK Dons and were generally all over the show at the back. Ben Foster’s retirement has allowed them to improve at the back, but they haven’t lost that attacking edge.

With Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer, they boast two of the finest strikers in the league and Wrexham have scored at least two goals in each of their last five outings. They face an Accrington side who are in good form, but not as strong as their opponents on paper. Stanley have seen both teams get on the scoresheet in each of their last three matches and there is the feeling that an open game will unfold at the Wham Stadium.

As a result, I like the look of Wrexham to win and over 3.5 goals at 7/4. I’m fairly confident that the Welsh side will win the game, while there is every possibility both teams will get on the scoresheet. A high-scoring win for the away side would deliver a winning bet for this healthy price.
