  • Inter to beat Udinese to nil @ 5/4

Monday night sees the conclusion of Serie A action for another week and runaway leaders Inter can increase their lead over bitter rivals Milan in second place to 14 points by taking all three points at Udinese.

The Nerazzurri were eliminated from the Champions League by Atletico Madrid on penalties prior to the international break and the following 1-1 draw at home to reigning champions Napoli brought with it thoughts that they could be about to stutter in their title charge.

However, a return to winning ways last time out at home to Empoli (2-0) alleviated those fears for the Inter faithful and, after thumping Udinese 4-0 in the reverse fixture back in December, they will be expected to produce a similarly dominant performance and claim victory at the Stadio Friuli.

As of writing, Gabriele Cioffi's Udinese side may lie in 14th and have lost just one of their last four in Serie A, but they are by no means out of the relegation battle, with just two points separating them and 18th-placed Frosinone.

Despite losing just 10 games in the league - fewer than European-chasing Lazio in seventh with 13 - the Zebrette have been punished for their inability to turn draws into wins, with only bottom side Salernitana winning on fewer occasions than Udinese's four.

They stunned Simone Inzaghi's side in this fixture last season, recording a 3-1 victory, but a repeat of this feat looks to be a tall order, especially given that this was their first home win over the Nerazzurri in Serie A since 2013.

Goals have been hard to come by for the Bianconeri this season, with just 29 strikes finding the back of the net; only Salernitana, Empoli, Lecce and Verona have scored less. 17 of these have come at home, although these have helped amass just 12 points from fixtures at the Stadio Friuli, ranking the second worst in the division.

This poor home form and goalscoring record is likely to be music to Inter's ears and the likely Scudetto champions will be looking to continue their impressive form in front of goal this season, with Inzaghi's men failing to score within 90 minutes in just two of their 41 games in all competitions in 2023-24.

Inter have dropped just four points on the road all season and an impressively strong defensive record of six goals conceded on the road in Serie A makes Udinese's task of finding the back of the net that much tougher.

With three of their last four away wins accompanied by clean sheets, Inter will undoubtedly be confident in coming away with the points on Monday night and another shutout victory looks to be an enticing betting option.
