Our Football Bet of the Day for Monday April 29 comes from the Championship as Leicester City travel to Deepdale to take on Preston North End. The Foxes  secured promotion to the Premier League on Friday without kicking a ball thanks to Leeds United's defeat to QPR and could clinch the title with three points in Lancashire.

  • #PickYourPunt - Vardy and Fatawu to score and BTTS No @ 11/1

We’ve gone for a two-part #PickYourPunt to spice things up on Monday. Leicester are fairly heavy favourites to win this game, and I believe they will do so to nil, but we can still add some value to that theory. Let’s start with the clean sheet for the away side.

The Foxes kept a free-scoring Southampton out in that 5-0 midweek success, but this is a selection more based around how Preston have struggled in front of goal of late. They have only scored 56 goals across the entirety of the campaign, but they have failed to find the net in their last three outings.

Will Keane and Emil Riis Jakobsen are struggling up top and they seem to have lost fluidity against in-form teams, such as QPR, Southampton and Norwich. Leicester fit into that bracket at this moment in time, and the likes of Wout Faes and Jannik Vestegaard will fancy their chances of another shutout - one that would take them so close to promotion. If they can secure a clean sheet, they just need their star forwards to produce, which brings us to the second part of this selection.

I think Leicester will enjoy a profitable afternoon in front of goal, given what is still on the line. They know how important three points could be, and fortunately for the Foxes, they have a fully-fit squad for Enzo Maresca to select from. That means the gaffer is likely to choose the same XI that thumped Southampton 5-0 - I mean, how can he drop any of those players?

It means despite the talent on the bench, we can have a decent crack at selecting a couple of goalscorers. Jamie Vardy is the man for the big occasion and the Leicester captain is surely going to get on the scoresheet in this type of game. You can already imagine him celebrating, ears cupped, in front of the PNE fans.

Meanwhile, Abdul Fatawu scored a sensational hat-trick against Southampton in midweek. He’s only scored six goals this season in total, but I think he will be on a high, and willing to take shots at goal at Deepdale. Against a Preston outfit who have three key injuries in the form of Ben Whiteman, Brad Potts and Ali McCann, the Foxes should be able to secure a comfortable win.
