Tottenham Hotspur are in FA Cup third-round action against Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday night (20:00) live on ITV.

It is the first match in which Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is going to have to deal without captain and leading man Son Heung-min, who is representing South Korea in the Asian Cup. Midfield duo Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr are taking part in the African Cup of Nations with Mali and Senegal respectively.

With Spurs still missing other key players due to injury, these new absences leave Postecoglou with his work cut out over the next few weeks, and he will be demanding more from the players he still has at his disposal.

And there is one player in particular who has been in fine form of late who the Australian coach will be relying on heavily during this period.

Football Bet of the Day - Friday 5 January

  • Richarlison to score anytime - 6/5

When Richarlison made the switch to north London from Everton last season, the Brazilian struggled to make an instant impact for Spurs. He ended the season with just one Premier League goal to his name, the goal which he thought had rescued his side a point against Liverpool, only for Diogo Jota to put the Reds in front again just seconds later.

That kind of summed up the attacker's first year in Tottenham's colours but he has really stepped up his game this term under Postecoglou. The 26-year-old has found his scoring boots in recent weeks with five goals in his last five Premier League appearances to take his tally for the campaign to six. Richarlison has also found the back of the net in the Carabao Cup this term, in the second round defeat to Fulham.

He has hit form at the right time, particularly with Son away and James Maddison not quite ready to return to action just yet. So his manager will be putting more faith in him over the next few weeks to fill the void left by Son, and for the first time in his Spurs career, you believe he can handle the extra responsibility.

Richarlison will be raring to go on Friday against Burnley as Spurs begin their FA Cup journey. The iconic competition not only offers his side a great opportunity to end their 16-year hiatus without silverware but it also offers him the chance to continue his scoring run. And with the Clarets' poor defensive record (41 goals conceded in the Premier League), you'd fancy his chances to get on the scoresheet again.

He is playing with such confidence right now, which is the most he has had since moving to the capital. Burnley are going to find it difficult to keep him quiet on Friday night and we are backing him to find the back of the net once again.

Richarlison to score anytime at 6/5
