They are incredibly strong in the first phase of this competition, and they will be hoping that will continue into this new era.

Bayern were boosted by the return of winger Leroy Sane from injury at the weekend, and so Kompany should have a clean bill of health among his key stars ahead of this Champions League opener. The former Man City attacker will likely keep his place on the bench here as he works his way back up to full fitness.

Tarek Buchmann, Josip Stanisic and Hiroki Ito are the players still in the treatment room and will miss this European opener as a result.

Kompany is spoilt for choice with attacking options. Sane, Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise and Mathys Tel will all be vying for spots on Tuesday to play alongside Kane, but whatever the manager's decision, he will have an abundance of options from the bench.

The visitors have no fresh injury concerns ahead of their trip to the German capital but changes could be afoot in the starting lineup after the team were beaten by rivals Hajduk Split at the weekend.

Forward Sandro Kulenovic could be called up to start, having netted five goals in six league games this term. He could be deployed alongside Bruno Petkovic up front.

Bayern Munich are excellent in the first phase of the Champions League and they have won 28 of their last 30 group games over the past five seasons (including 20/25 at home)- so Dinamo Zagreb are going to require a spectacular performance to come away from the Allianz Arena with three points, or more realistically just one.

The level of opposition may not be as tough as it could have been for their opener, but this is still a test for Kompany who is about to lead a European powerhouse for the first time as a coach. He will want to get off to a strong start and will demand that his players can deliver a similar level of performance to what they have producing in the Bundesliga so far.

It will be good for him to have this first encounter on home soil because if we're being honest, it should be a routine victory for Die Roten. That is my thinking at least heading into Tuesday, and I believe that Bayern have the firepower to win this match comfortably, and I expect them to be strong defensively against their Croatian opponents and record a shut-out.

Therefore, I am backing them to win to nil.

Harry Kane to score two or more goals @ 23/10

This man will be pumped up for Tuesday's game, not just because it's a Champions League encounter, but because he is in great form. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker netted a hat-trick against Holstein Kiel at the weekend, so he will be feeling very confident ahead of this meeting with Dinamo Zagreb.

You just know he's going to a constant nuisance to Zagreb's defence in this contest, and they are going to be in for a long evening as they try to deal with one of the world's best forwards. I don't think that's going to happen and I can see the England captain having another proficient game in front of goal.

He scored three on his last outing, but I am going to play a little bit safer and tip him to find the back of the net at least twice. The home crowd will help him achieve this feat, not that it's really needed. Kane is one of the best goalscorers around and I believe he can put on a show at the Allianz.
