Bayern Munich vs Galatasaray Prediction: Big home win expected

The top two in Group A of the UEFA Champions League meet on Wednesday night as Bayern Munich host Galatasaray, with kick-off at 20:00. Below we preview the match and give our selections for you to consider.

Joshua Kimmich is back in contention for Bayern Munich after he missed the weekend's win through suspension. Leon Goretzka is also fit again after a period on the sidelines while Matthijs de Ligt is out until the end of the year. 

Thomas Tuchel is likely to name the same XI that beat Borussia Dortmund 4-0, although Serge Gnabry is pushing for a start. For Galatasaray, Tanguy Ndombele is the only absentee, expected to miss this match with a muscle injury.

Bayern Munich are heavy favourites, at 1/6 to win this game. A draw is available at 11/2 while Galatasaray are 10/1 to take all three points. BTTS is 4/6 while over 2.5 goals is priced at 1/4. 

Bayern Munich to win with -2 handicap @ 5/4

This encounter is likely to be an incredibly one-sided affair. Bayern are getting better and better as the season progresses and even in the reverse fixture, managed to come away with a 3-1 win. Harry Kane is on fire, scoring another hat-trick as Bayern battered Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in Der Klassiker at the weekend and their attacking unit is now firing on all cylinders. 

They are, quite rightly, an incredibly short price on home soil but there is still be some value in backing the German champions. Ignoring that shock DFB-Pokal loss their second string suffered, they’ve scored at least three goals in their last five outings. If we predict that goalscoring run to continue, we can apply the -2 handicap to a Bayern win, and get a price of 5/4. It’s not huge, but it is worth considering given the lack of value elsewhere. 

Leroy Sane to score anytime @ 23/20

Obviously, it makes sense to back Harry Kane to score anytime, but the prices on him to find the net are incredibly short. He’s just 4/9 to score anytime, 2/1 to score twice and only 15/2 to score a hat-trick - such is his prowess in front of goal. 

For a far better price, it makes sense in my eyes to back Leroy Sane to score during the match. The German winger has already scored nine goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this season, making him Bayern’s second top scorer, behind the aforementioned Kane. 

The price of 23/20 for him to find the net against a Galatasaray side who could find life tough is certainly one I can get behind.
