La Liga returns with a midweek set of fixtures and one of the more intriguing ones to catch the eye sees Athletic Bilbao host Getafe. The hosts currently sit in fourth and have enjoyed a wonderful start to the season, and they take on 13th placed Getafe at 6pm BST on Wednesday.

Athletic Bilbao to win to nil

Athletic Bilbao have been in superb form so far this season and are currently on a run of five matches without defeat. During that run, they’ve won four and drawn one, while their only defeat of the season has come against Real Madrid. 

Ernesto Valverde has turned this team into a force to be reckoned with, and in the last three matches they haven’t even conceded a goal. Three clean sheets on the bounce will delight goalkeeper Unai Simon and there’s no reason why they can’t keep another clean sheet on home soil here. 

This will be a tough test, they face a Getafe side that is in excellent goalscoring form. They’ve scored three goals in each of their last two outings, while they also scored at the Bernabeu. However, they narrowly got past Osasuna and lost 4-3 to Real Sociedad, two sides who are not on the same level as Bilbao this term. 

What we should see is a strong home performance at both ends of the pitch. Valverde should be able to lead his side to another win. 

Inaki Williams to score anytime

Inaki Williams is still Athletic Bilbao’s main man. The number nine now plays on the right-wing but he has the licence to roam in attacking areas. Williams always takes on the attacking mantle for Valverde’s side and he has scored twice in the last two matches. 

That’s enough to back, in a game the home side should dominate, Williams to score again. He should get a couple of shots on target and he’s 2/1 to score, and that price is more than backable for one of the best attackers in La Liga.
