Aston Villa vs Ipswich Prediction: Hosts to win entertaining affair

Aston Villa welcome Ipswich Town to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon (15:00) to resume Premier League duties after both sides enjoyed victories in the FA Cup last weekend.
The sides played out a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture and another entertaining affair looks likely this weekend. Read on for my Aston Villa vs Ipswich prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Ezri Konsa was forced off in the first half of the FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur due to a muscle injury and his status for this game remains unknown. Unai Emery is also hoping to have Ollie Watkins at his disposal at the weekend, after he missed the Spurs win with a muscle injury of his own.
Pau Torres is a long-term absentee and Matty Cash joins him in the treatment room, while Tyrone Mings and Ross Barkley could feature but will be assessed prior to kick-off.
As for the visitors, Sammie Szmodics had to be subbed in the 35th minute of the fourth-round FA Cup triumph against Coventry City, so the former Blackburn Rovers man will be absent this weekend.
Meanwhile, Chiedozie Ogbene, Wes Burns, Christian Walton and Conor Chaplin will all remain on the sidelines for this contest.
The hosts are 2/5 to claim all three points, giving them an implied win probability of 71.4%, with the draw of decent value at 4/1 and an Ipswich win can be backed at 7/1.
Watkins is the favourite to score anytime at 19/20, while Liam Delap is shortest-priced for the visitors at 23/10.
Aston Villa and both teams to score @ 15/8
Villa will start the weekend in eighth place in the Premier League table, with their sights firmly set on achieving a top-four finish. Saturday's opponents Ipswich are struggling down in 19th and fighting for their Premier League status.
Prior to the aforementioned victory over Coventry in the FA Cup, the Tractor Boys suffered four straight defeats in the league, conceding a whopping 18 goals during that time.
However, I believe Ipswich can get on the scoresheet at Villa Park, as both teams have scored in Villa's last seven home matches and they haven't kept a clean sheet in any of their last six outings.
I'm backing them to pick up a consolation strike, in a game that Villa should win rather comfortably.

Ollie Watkins to score first @ 100/30
As mentioned above, Emery will be hoping to have his star striker available on Saturday after the England international missed the fourth-round FA Cup win due to injury.
Watkins has once again proven to be a key attacking threat for Villa this term, scoring 11 goals and even attracted interest form Arsenal during the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old scored in the reverse fixture against Ipswich at Portman Road, and rather than backing him anytime where there's next to no value at 19/20, I'm backing him to break the deadlock this weekend.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
