AstonVilla vs Liverpool Prediction Betting Tips Monday May 13th

An intriguing contest is on the cards in the Premier League on Monday night, as third-place Liverpool travel to fourth-placed Aston Villa.

After dropping points against Everton and West Ham United, Liverpool looked much more like themselves in a 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

That win certainly helped Aston Villa, who can assure themselves Champions League football for next season with victory on Monday night.

However, the Reds have a strong record at Villa Park and Unai Emery’s side might have to wait a little longer before celebrating a huge achievement if they do land a place in Europe’s elite club competition. Below you can find my Aston Villa vs Liverpool prediction.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool Betting Tips

  • Liverpool to win and both teams to score @ 8/5
  • #PickYourPunt - Mohamed Salah and Ollie Watkins to score anytime @ 10/3

Team News

Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez returned from injury to feature in the defeat to Olympiacos last time out and is expected to start between the sticks once again.

Youri Tielemans (groin), Alex Moreno (unspecified) and Nicolo Zaniolo (unspecified) are all doubts for the arrival of Liverpool, with the trio requiring late fitness tests.

Morgan Rogers might well have played his last game this season after picking up a hamstring injury against Brighton, while Emiliano Buendia (knee), Tyrone Mings (knee), Boubacar Kamara (knee) and Jacob Ramsey (ankle) are all long-term absentees.

As for the visitors, there are no fresh injury concerns for manager Jurgen Klopp, meaning Diogo Jota (hip), Ben Doak (knee), Bobby Clark (unspecified), Thiago Alcantara (muscle) and Joel Matip (knee) remain on the list of players in the treatment room.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool Odds

Aston Villa are the 3/1 underdogs for Monday’s clash, with Liverpool at 8/11 to head back to Merseyside with the three points.

A draw on the night is available at 100/30, while over 3.5 total goals is currently 5/6 in what is expected to be a high-scoring affair in the West Midlands.

Liverpool to win and both teams to score @ 8/5

That strong performance against Spurs will have provided a significant lift for Liverpool, who take on a Villa side that are stumbling their way towards the finishing line after what has been a tremendous season.

Villa saw their Europa Conference League dream come to an end at the semi-final stage against Olympiacos on Thursday and it might be a challenge to pick themselves up and go again.

Liverpool to win and both teams to score would have landed in all of the last three meetings between these sides at Villa Park and the trend can continue on Monday night.

#PickYourPunt - Mohamed Salah and Ollie Watkins to score anytime @ 10/3

Having scored seven goals in his 10 meetings with Aston Villa in all competitions, Mohamed Salah seems to have enjoyed his time playing against the Villans over the years.

Scoring the opener against Tottenham last time out saw the Egyptian end a three-match goal drought following his match-winning penalty at Atalanta and he has the ability to hurt this Villa defence on Monday, given the space often left in behind.

Ollie Watkins has been one of the success stories of the Premier League this season and he too can find the back of the net in this one.

With five goals in seven matches against Liverpool, Watkins has also enjoyed this fixture and he and Salah to score anytime in the game is enticing at 10/3.
