Aston Villa to win by 2+ goals

Unai Emery's side are in fine fettle as they head into the tail end of the season, losing just one of their last six (against title favourites Manchester City) and are having a real tussle with Spurs for the much-coveted fourth Champions League spot.

They followed up a great 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates, with a solid 3-1 defeat of Bournemouth at the weekend, to move six points above Tottenham, who do hold a couple of games in hand, however.

Meanwhile, after a period of prosperity, Chelsea have hit a bit of a roadblock and had a week to forget, losing 1-0 at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final (to City again!) and then were walloped 5-0 by Arsenal in midweek.

Cole Palmer may be back for this one but Chelsea looked a mess on Tuesday, particularly at the back and I fully expect Villa to put them through another ordeal. For that reason, I'm taking the Villans to win this game by 2+ goals.

Ollie Watkins to score

The England forward is having the best season of his career with Villa, with 22 goals and 12 assists across all competitions, including 19 in the English top flight.

The 28-year-old is averaging three shots per game for the Villa and has recently upped his output, firing off nine in his last two outings.

Watkins has four goals in his last five and looks in red-hot nick right now, which is bad news indeed for this shaky Blues back-line.

Marc Cucurella 2+ fouls

The long-haired left back only came back into the side in March but in the six games he has played since, has passed this line on three occasions, including last time out against Arsenal.

Here, he is up against Leon Bailey who draws an average of 0.7 fouls per game and can be a real handful. Expect to see Cucurella pull him back on at least one occasion.

Nicolas Jackson 2+ shots

It remains to be seen whether the £30m+ transfer from Villarreal and eight-year contract handed to Nicolas Jackson is a successful move or not. Some games the 22-year-old looks electric and impossible to get a grip of. Other games, he finishes like a non-league striker.

What can't be doubted is his propensity to let off strikes towards goal, with Jackson averaging 2.1 shots per game this season, which is second only to Cole Palmer.

The Senegalese international has passed this line in five of his last seven games and should be starting in his preferred number nine role.
