Arsenal will shift their focus to the Premier League title race when they welcome Newcastle United to the Emirates on Saturday evening (20:00).

The Gunners will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing midweek defeat in the Champions League, while Newcastle's most recent outing saw them snatch a point in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

Arsenal vs Newcastle Prediction

  • Arsenal to win and under 2.5 goals @ 10/3
  • Bukayo Saka to score anytime @ 5/4

Team News

There could be a shuffling of the pack for Mikel Arteta's side after their Champions League exploits in midweek. Fabio Viera returned to the matchday squad on Wednesday after three months out with injury, suggesting he could be nearing a return to the starting XI.

However, Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko all remain on the treatment table for the Gunners.

As for Newcastle, Callum Wilson looks to be facing around 12 weeks on the sideline, while Alexander Isak continues to recover from a groin problem. Additionally, Sandro Tonali, Nick Pope, Matt Targett, Joelinton and Elliot Anderson all remain out of action.

Match Odds

Arsenal are favourites to pick up a win on their home turf at 1/3, the draw is 9/2, and a Newcastle win is 7/1.

Both teams to score can be backed at 4/6while over 2.5 goals is priced up 4/9.

Arsenal to win and under 2.5 goals @ 10/3

After Liverpool beat Luton Town on Wednesday, Arsenal need a win to go back to within two points of the Premier League leaders.

As mentioned above, Arteta's side suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Porto on the same night, but I'm backing them to get back in the win column on Saturday.

Picking under 2.5 goals is going against the grain considering both of Arsenal's and Newcastle's recent outings in the league have been full of goalmouth action, but usually when these two sides meet there aren't many goals.

In fact, the last six times they've met, there hasn't ever been more than two goals scored in the game and it's back to 2018 to find the last game in which both teams to score would have landed.

With Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak both expected to be absent, I can see Newcastle setting up more defensively with the aim of frustrating the Gunners, which could influence this game into being a low-scoring one.

Arsenal to win and under 2.5 goals at 10-3

Bukayo Saka to score anytime @ 5/4

The England winger has 12 league goals this season, seven of them coming in his previous six games, including back-to-back braces against West Ham and Burnley in his last two top-flight games.

In addition, Saka has scored against Newcastle at the Emirates in two of the last three seasons, so he looks a decent pick to net anytime on Saturday at 5/4.

Saka to score anytime at 5-4
