Almeria vs Sevilla Prediction: Almeria’s winless woes set to continue

Monday night sees the final game of the La Liga matchweek as bottom-of-the-table UD Almeria host Sevilla (KO, 20:00), who look to be pulling away from the relegation zone.

La Union are still yet to register a league victory this season and this unfortunate record looks set to continue at Power House Stadium on Monday night, with Sevilla picking up points in recent weeks and finding form at the right time to avoid relegation. Team News

Almeria will be missing Leo Baptistao and Bruno Langa through injury and suspension respectively, while there are also doubts regarding the availability of Ibrahima Kone and Luis Suarez.

Manager Gaizka Garitano may ring the changes after his side were beaten 1-0 by Celta Vigo last time out, with Alex Pozo, Sergio Arribas and Alex Centelles all pushing for a start.

Sevilla are in the midst of an injury crisis, with potentially 10 first-team members all missing for their visit to Power Horse Stadium.

Marcao, Joan Jordan, Erik Lamela, Jesus Navas, Juanlu Sanchez, Dodi Lukebakio and Lucien Agoume will all definitely be absent for Monday night’s fixture, while there is also a high likelihood that Nemanja Gudelj, Mariano Diaz and Marcos Acuna will all be unavailable.

Sevilla are the favourites to take all three points back to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan at 11/8, whereas Almeria are 2/1 to register their first league victory of the campaign.

A recent resurgence in form has seen Sevilla pick up 10 points from a possible 15 across their last five games, which has seen Los Nervionenses go five points clear of the bottom three.

That run included impressive victories over Europe-chasing Atletico Madrid and, most recently, Real Sociedad and so boss Quique Sanchez Flores should feel confident that his side can claim the points over a struggling Almeria side.

La Union have had real difficulties in picking up points this season despite playing fairly well across the campaign, and have lost only two of their last five.

However, they will not have happy memories of the reverse fixture, having been thrashed 5-1 at the hands of the reigning Europa League champions and could suffer their 19th league defeat of the season.
