Coventry City (H) to beat Blackburn Rovers (15:00) @ 8/15

The Sky Blues are pretty damn good at football right now. Frank Lampard has steered his team to the top of the league and they’ve scored a ridiculous 27 goals in nine matches so far. At an average of three goals a game, they’ve hammered most teams they’ve faced this season and should pick up where they left off.

Blackburn are struggling to get going this season with seven points from eight games in 2025/26. They are lingering just outside the relegation zone and Valerien Ismael’s primary task will be keeping them in the division. Having sold former Coventry man Dom Hyam to Wrexham in the summer, the squad looks weak, and the Sky Blues should enjoy another home win.

Today's Football Fixtures

Bristol City (A) to beat Norwich City (15:00) @ 7/4

Liam Manning is under pressure at Norwich City after bitter rivals Ipswich Town ended their 16-year wait for a derby win last time out. Manning is struggling to get the best out of this team and they are winless in their last five. Worse still, they have lost all four home games this season, conceding eight goals at Carrow Road in 2025/26.

It’s bad timing then for Bristol City to come to town. The Robins will have a point to prove against the manager that walked out on them, and although they are also in poor form and winless in their last four - I think Gerhard Struber will get a result here. If Bristol City get an early goal, the home crowd will turn.

Charlton Athletic (H) to beat Sheffield Wednesday (15:00) @ 4/6

Sheffield Wednesday have done reasonably well away from home this season, but the challenges this squad are facing this season are surely too big to overcome. They’ve got the worst squad in the division, and now young defender Ernie Weaver is out injured, their lack of depth is apparent.

Charlton are 13th in the table and looking strong for a mid-table finish, so they should be able to beat a Sheff Wed outfit that conceded five goals to Coventry in their last outing.

Stockport County (H) to beat Exeter City (15:00) @ 4/9

Dave Challinor’s men have finally got going this term and I think they are key contenders for promotion. They’ve won three out of their last four and are unbeaten in five so they will fancy their chances at home to Exeter City - with the Grecians currently sat in 16th.

They’ve only won one of their last five and I think Gary Caldwell will be satisfied if he can keep Exeter in League 1 this term. Home win.

Leicester City (H) to beat Portsmouth (19:45) @ 7/10

Leicester City are going well right now and their individual quality has carried them up to third. The Foxes are now unbeaten in their last seven and they’ve only lost once all season while Abdul Fatawu has been exceptional so far this term, and should be key once again.

Portsmouth sit 14th and look to be the definition of a mid-table outfit this season, with this away test possibly a step too far for John Mousinho’s men - who have won just one of their last five.
