QPR (H) to beat Blackburn @ 5/4

Blackburn Rovers find themselves in quite a bit of trouble, and they now sit in the bottom three with a third of the season to go. Valerien Ismael is trying to get the best out of a squad that doesn’t seem to be good enough to stay in the division, and I can see them struggling again here. 

Rovers have only beaten Sheffield Wednesday in their last ten outings in the league, while QPR beat promotion-chasing Coventry in their last home game. I think the R’s are on course for another home win. 

Bristol City (A) to beat Port Vale @ 4/5

Over to the FA Cup now and we should see a Championship side progress to the fifth round in the form of Bristol City. They travel to League 1 strugglers Port Vale, who sit bottom of the third tier and have conceded six goals in their last two outings. 

The pitch will play a factor here, but Bristol City are on the fringes of the play-offs in the Championship and should be able to cruise past the Valiants. 

Liverpool (H) to beat Brighton @ 8/15

Liverpool have a home tie against Brighton and their midweek win over Sunderland should have given them a boost in confidence after the late defeat to Manchester City. Arne Slot’s men are still in the running for a Champions League spot and could still go far in that competition this year, but it feels like an FA Cup run would also alleviate the pressure on his shoulders. 

Brighton seem like pretty soft opponents right now and Fabian Hurzeler has overseen two 1-0 defeats in a row, extending their winless run to five. In fact, their last win came against Manchester United in this competition - but I can’t see them repeating the feat at Anfield.  

Cardiff (H) to beat Luton @ 9/10

League 1 leaders Cardiff City host pre-season favourites Luton Town on Saturday, and you have to back Brian Barry-Murphy’s league leaders right now. The Bluebirds are unbeaten in nine league games and although Lincon City are putting the pressure on with their winning run, the gap between top and third is now eight points. 

You’d think that gap should see Cardiff promoted one way or another and although seventh-placed Luton have won their last two, I think they will struggle in south Wales. 

Millwall (A) to beat Sheff Wed @ 4/11 

Simple one to finish. Sheffield Wednesday haven’t scored since Boxing Day and it looks like they are going to struggle to pick up another point this season - especially after the departure of Barry Bannan. 

It’s looking bleak for the Owls, and promotion-chasing Millwall should wipe the floor with them.
