Leicester (A) to beat West Brom to nil (20:00) @ 9/2
Leicester City have had a strong start to the Championship this term, losing just one of their opening six. They’ve certainly had the best start of the relegated Premier League teams, as Southampton and Ipswich Town continue to struggle.
Marti Cifuentes is clearly a tactically-astute manager who puts his focus on a strong defensive structure, as we saw in the 0-0 draw with Coventry City last time out. Three clean sheets in their last four is impressive, while West Brom have lost their last two after a bright start. I think the Foxes can grab three points and another clean sheet at a big price.
Espanyol (A) to beat Girona (20:00) @ 2/1
Girona host Espanyol on Friday night, having suffered a brutal start to the new campaign. They currently sit bottom of the La Liga with just two points to their name from six, and interestingly both of those draws have come on the road. They’ve lost all three home matches heavily, 3-1 to Rayo Vallecano, 2-0 to Sevilla and 4-0 to Levante.
Red cards have hampered them somewhat, but they still shouldn’t be favourites to win this game against an Espanyol outfit that sit fourth having grabbed 11 points so far. Only Real Madrid have beaten them, so I’m happy to back them to grab another win against La Liga’s basement club.

Bayern Munich (H) to beat Werder Bremen (19:30) with -1 handicap @ 1/4
Bayern are flying right now and are unsurprisingly heavy favourites to win this game having won four from four in the Bundesliga - scoring 18 goals along the way. Harry Kane and his teammates even beat Chelsea 3-1 in the Champions League and they are serious contenders to go all the way in Europe this term.
They should have no problem pushing aside Werder Bremen, who only have four points from four games so far. Bayern should be way too strong on home soil, so we will add a -1 handicap, which has come in during their last three outings.
Marseille (A) to beat Strasborg (19:45) @ 1/1
Marseille secured a vital 1-0 win over PSG last time out to take them onto nine points from their five Ligue 1 fixtures in 2025/26. They were also unfortunate to lose 2-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League as Kylian Mbappe converted two penalties to secure a comeback for Los Blancos.
Marseille are a decent outfit under Roberto De Zerbi and although Strasbourg have had a flying start to the season with four wins out of five, you would surely believe that Marseille will surpass them at some point in the season. I think they should get an away win on Friday night.
Benfica (H) to beat Gil Vicente to nil (20:15) @ 4/5
Jose Mourinho saw his side draw 1-1 with Rio Ave last time out, while they also lost 3-2 at home to Qarabag in the Champions League. But, they remain one of the strongest sides in the Portuguese league and they should be able to win and keep a clean sheet on Friday night against Gil Vicente.
Benfica have only conceded three goals in the league this season and while Gil Vicente have been strong this season, keeping four clean sheets in a row, they did lose 2-0 to Porto when they last faced one of the big three. I’ll back Benfica to get the job done in front of their own fans.
