Arsenal (A) to beat Chelsea @ 5/4

We’ve got the first leg of the second Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, as Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge looking to keep their hopes of a quadruple alive. They are leading the way in the Premier League, cruised through in the FA Cup and are two games away from Wembley in this competition.

The Gunners have won four of their last five, while Chelsea had success in the FA Cup at Charlton - but they've failed to win their last five against Premier League opposition. I think Arsenal will reign supreme once again and take a first leg victory.

Bayern Munich (A) to beat Koln @ 2/9

Not much explanation needed for this short-price pick, but Bayern are unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season and absolutely flying, having scored 63 goals in 16 games. They should have no trouble maintaining their spectacular form away at 11th-placed Koln, who are winless in their last five league outings.

Napoli (H) to beat Parma @ 3/10

Napoli could do with a win in this Serie A clash as they’ve drawn their last two outings 2-2, and now sit four points behind league leaders Inter Milan. Antonio Conte guided his side to success in the Italian Super Cup in December with a win over Bologna, but needs to get them back on track in the league.

I think a home game against a Parma side that have only been able to amass 21 points from 19 Serie A games to date should do the trick. Napoli are unbeaten at home, with six wins and two draws, and they should add another three points on Wednesday night.

Hearts (H) to beat St Mirren @ 2/5

Up to Scotland, and the league leaders are back in action against St Mirren. The Jam Tarts have won their last two games 1-0, and remain three points clear of a resurgent Rangers. This title race looks likely to go all the way to the wire, and I will back them to find another win here against a weak St Mirren outfit.

Stephen Robinson has seen his side lose their last three games, and they sit 10th, having amassed just 18 points from 20 fixtures. Home win.

Porto (H) to beat Benfica @ 11/10

Porto host Benfica in the Taca de Portugal, as O Clasico takes place at the quarter-final stage. It’s an early meeting for the giants, and the winner of this one will seriously fancy their chances of going all the way. Jose Mourinho’s Benfica lost at home to Braga in Taca de Liga last time out, and although they are unbeaten in the league - their high number of draws sees them third - 10 points behind Porto.

Francesco Farioli has done a superb job so far, as Porto have won 16 and drawn one of their 17 league outings. That’s a near-perfect start to the season and they will want to add cup success to their probable league title. They’ve only conceded two league goals at home this season, and I don’t think even Mourinho’s magic can stop them.

This five-fold pays 15/1.
