Football Acca Tips: Adams & Caicedo cautioned vs former clubs in 469/1 PL cards acca

Last weekend’s first attempt at nailing a Premier League cards accumulator didn’t go too badly, with two of the eligible four selections (Joelinton didn’t play for Newcastle United), Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber and Sunderland’s Granit Xhaka, picking up yellows against Manchester City and Aston Villa, respectively.
I return this week with another five Premier League players to consider in the card market. Below are my Football Acca Tips for Gameweek 6…

Moises Caicedo (Chelsea vs Brighton, Sat 15:00) @ 2/1
Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has received 10+ yellows in each of the last three Premier League seasons: 10 for Brighton in 2022/23, and 11 apiece for the Blues in 2023/24 and 2024/25.
The Ecuador international has already been booked this term, in Chelsea’s last home game, a 2-0 victory over Fulham on August 30, and in his next match, for his country in a World Cup qualifier against Argentina, 11 days later, he was shown a red card for two yellows.
The former Seagulls star has history in this fixture, with a booking in four of his six appearances against Brighton since swapping the South Coast for west London in the summer of 2023.
Three of those yellows have been issued in the Premier League, and the only top-flight head-to-head in which he hasn’t been cautioned, last September’s 4-2 win for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, he still committed four fouls.
Chelsea and Brighton have met twice this calendar year, with Caicedo booked in the 68th minute of the Seagulls’ 2-1 FA Cup win at the Amex on February 8, and in the 42nd minute of their 3-0 Premier League victory six days later.
Brighton have several attackers who are well-versed in winning free-kicks, not least Georginio Rutter, who averaged 1.6 fouls won per Premier League game last season, despite only averaging 60 minutes per match (28 appearances, 19 starts). The Frenchman has already been taken down six times this term (four appearances, three starts), while teammate Yankuba Minteh is averaging 1.6 fouls won per game after five outings (all starts).
Tyler Adams (Bournemouth vs Leeds, Sat 15:00) @ 16/5
Another player facing his former side on Saturday, Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams will step foot in the cauldron that is Elland Road, well aware that he will be in for a hostile greeting from Leeds United supporters.
The USA star isn’t disliked on the same level as his international teammate, Weston McKennie, but it’s fair to say there’s no love lost between player and fans, still, with the 26-year-old leaving the Whites upon their relegation to the EFL Championship in 2023.
Adams was issued six yellows and one red in 24 Premier League appearances for Leeds in the 2022/23 season. After an injury-riddled 2023/24 campaign with the Cherries, playing just three times in the top tier, he turned out 28 times last term (21 starts), receiving seven yellows.
He’s already been cautioned three times in five outings in 2025/26, and is averaging 1.4 fouls per game.
Leeds midfield counterpart Anton Stach is averaging 1.8 fouls won per game, and the German is someone who could tempt Adams into a yellow-card worthy challenge in West Yorkshire.

Arthur Masuaku (Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland, Sat 17:30) @ 9/4
At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest host Sunderland in the 17:30 kick-off, with both teams searching for their first win of the month.
Sunderland drew 1-1 at home with Aston Villa last Sunday, with left-back Reinildo Mandava sent off in the 33rd minute for kicking out at Matty Cash. Dan Ballard was introduced for Chris Rigg four minutes later, as Regis Le Bris looked to protect Robin Roefs in net.
The Black Cats boss may opt for a more specialised left-back this Saturday to replace Reinildo, and former West Ham United man Arthur Masuaku, who joined the club in mid-August, fits the bill.
Masuaku played the final 10+ minutes last weekend and is now in line for his full league debut with Sunderland, having played the duration of the 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Huddersfield Town on August 26.
The 31-year-old was booked against the Terriers, and he’s certainly no stranger to a yellow, picking up 22 in 82 Turkish Super Lig appearances across three seasons for previous side Besiktas.
Masuaku was carded nine times in 33 league outings last season, and was shown four yellows in nine Uefa Europa League appearances.
This weekend, the DR Congo international could come up against Forest winger Dan Ndoye, who averaged 3.4 fouls won per game for Bologna in last season's Serie A, and 2.6 fouls won per game in the Champions League.
The 24-year-old was taken down twice for Forest in last Saturday's stalemate with Burnley at Turf Moor, once in the first half by Josh Laurent, and once in the second half by Clarets left-back Quilindschy Hartman, after he had swapped from the left to the right.
Toti Gomes (Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolves, Sat 20:00) @ 3/1
Left-sided Wolves centre-back Toti Gomes was booked six times in 17 Premier League appearances in 2022/23, before receiving seven yellows in each of his next two campaigns, playing 35 times in 2023/24 and 31 times last term.
The 26-year-old has already been issued two cards this season, with a ninth-minute yellow in the 1-0 loss to Bournemouth on August 23, followed by a straight red four minutes after half-time.
Toti served his one-game ban in the 3-2 Carabao Cup victory over West Ham three days later, and returned to the starting XI for Wanderers’ next three league games before being utilised as a late substitute in Wednesday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win against Everton.
We’ll have to wait and see whether the Portuguese defender starts on Saturday, considering his side kept a clean sheet with a four-man defence in midweek, but if Vitor Pereira reverts to a three-man back line, Toti could come back in, with his left foot a handy asset to build up from that side of the pitch.
Should he start, he may have trouble keeping right-sided Spurs attacker Mohammed Kudus quiet. The Ghanaian is averaging 1.2 fouls won per game in the Premier League this season, and averaged two fouls won per game in 2024/25 for West Ham.

Joelinton (Newcastle United vs Arsenal, Sun 16:30) @ 15/8
If at first you don't succeed...
I backed Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton to receive a card in the Magpies' trip to Vitality Stadium last Sunday, but the Brazilian, alongside compatriot Bruno Guimaraes, didn't even make it off the bench against Bournemouth. The duo, so important to the way the side plays under Eddie Howe, were likely rested following an intense Champions League game against FC Barcelona three days earlier.
Both players returned for Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie with Bradford City, though, with Joelinton bagging a brace and lasting the full 90 minutes. The 29-year-old will hope he has done enough to convince Howe that he is undroppable ahead of Sunday's crunch clash with Arsenal.
I think he will start, and as always, he is a standout candidate in the player card market.
Joelinton has been cautioned twice already this term, on the opening Premier League weekend against Aston Villa, and in the Champions League against Barcelona.
The Brazil international was booked 10 times in the league last season, averaging two fouls per game, and has received two yellows in his career against Arsenal, including in his last appearance, a 2-0 victory for Newcastle in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie at the Emirates Stadium on January 7.
On Sunday, Arsenal could start Eberechi Eze, who averaged 1.5 fouls won per game in the Premier League last season, and Bukayo Saka (1.6 p/g), while Myles Lewis-Skelly (two p/g) could also receive minutes at St James' Park.
