United States Grand Prix 2025 Predictions: Max to cause chaos?

The Circuit of the Americas will welcome the circus that is Formula One to Texas this weekend, and the battle for the Drivers’ Championship will continue between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. 

Having once again finished ahead of them both in Singapore, Max Verstappen is waiting to pick up the pieces if either of them slip up. Below you can find my United States Grand Prix 2025 Predictions, with just six races to go before the end of the season.

United States Grand Prix 2025 Odds

For the first time in a few weeks, Verstappen is the favourite to win a race, priced at 2/1 to take the chequered flag - ahead of Norris (9/4) and Piastri (5/2). George Russell is 12/1 to make it two race wins on the trot for Mercedes while Sir Lewis Hamilton is 4/1 to finish in the top three.

Max Verstappen to win @ 2/1

Lando and Oscar continued their ‘less than friendly’ rivalry as the Brit dived down the inside of his teammate on lap one to overtake Piastri in Singapore, and he held him off for the rest of the race, finishing just ahead of him in third. 

The gap is now just 22 points between them at the top, which is less than one race win, so we are set for an enthralling end to the 2025 season. Every point counts, and on a Sprint weekend, all eyes will be on those two papaya cars once again. The title tussle is certainly the focus, but in recent weeks, Max has been superb - beating both of them time and time again. 

He finished second behind Russell in Singapore but showed excellent pace throughout, and the Red Bull driver won in Baku as the McLarens floundered as well as winning in Italy, eventually putting a 19-second gap between him and Norris. That means in each of the last three races he has comfortably outperformed both McLarens and I’m happy to back him to do the same here. 

The odds offer decent value given for the majority of the season, Zak Brown’s team were by far the quickest on track - and they proved that as they scooped the Constructors’ Championship in Singapore. However, the tide looks to have turned slightly, and Verstappen can now compete on a level playing field with McLaren. If it comes down to driver ability, I’m backing the four-time world champion over anybody in the field. 

A big weekend for Max would make the rest of the season very tasty indeed.

George Russell to win the Sprint race @ 16/1

I don’t see much value elsewhere, so I think it’s worth a punt on this at a massive price. We all know how George got the nickname ‘Mr Saturday’ - because of his fearsome one-lap pace and his top-class performances in qualifying. 

His Mercedes was untouchable in Singapore as he stormed to the race win, and given he should be able to qualify well for the shortened Sprint race - I think this price is absolutely massive on him to win it. Small stakes only at these prices, but I like the look of this outside chance.
