Miami Grand Prix 2026 Predictions: Could finishers provide value in Miami?

We don’t usually get a five-week break between races in Formula One - but given the situation in the Middle East that is exactly what has been presented to us. However, after a significant time away, F1 returns for the Miami Grand Prix 2026.

It’s a glamorous race on the calendar, and Mercedes will hope to pick up where they left off after three wins out of three so far.

Miami Grand Prix 2026 Odds

George Russell is the favourite to win in Miami at 11/8, with his teammate Kimi Antonelli at 8/5. If you fancy a winner outside of the Mercedes duo you could land a big winner, with Oscar Piastri the next-best at 9/1.

George Russell to win the race @ 11/8

My colleague Kris Voakes picked out the race winner for our last article on the Japanese Grand Prix, backing Antonelli, and I'm going to try and back that up here.

It’s really difficult to know where to place this race given the massive break but here is how I see it. I think Mercedes will still be the quickest team on track and their dominance should be apparent, however I do expect Ferrari and McLaren to have closed the gap. We’ve almost had another pre-season in truth, with other constructors surely taking note of Mercedes’ pace and trying to replicate it themselves.

The question for me then is between Antonelli and Russell. Antonelli has won the last two races, becoming the youngest-ever championship leader in the process. Russell has had slight issues in the last two races which might explain why he was standing on the top of the podium, but in truth, his teammate has deserved back-to-back wins.

Now in his fifth season at Mercedes, I think the Brit will get back to winning ways. He finished third last season in Miami, but I’m expecting him to get back to his best and stamp his mark on this title race.

F1 Odds

Over 19.5 race finishers @ 17/10

Last year in Miami we 16 finishers out of 20, but on the whole this relatively new track to F1 has been fairly safe for drivers to get round. With 22 drivers now on track and a break to work on the reliability of their cars, I think we could see a decent number of finishers at a big price.

In 2024, 19 out of 20 runners made it to the chequered flag, and in 2023, it was a full house, as all 20 drivers completed the race. That’s a pretty strong percentage over three years with a completion rate of 91.67% - 55 out of 60. Given we now have 22 drivers, I think backing at least 20 of them to finish makes sense.
