Las Vegas Grand Prix 2024 Predictions: Verstappen to become four-time champ?

At the Brazilian Grand Prix, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen silenced his doubters with a simply astonishing performance as he won the race despite starting 17th on the grid. It was a win that stunned his title rivals and has put him on the brink of winning his fourth-consecutive Drivers’ World Championship.
Next up, Formula One heads for the bright lights of Las Vegas and with Verstappen holding a 62-point lead with three races to go - he only needs to better Lando Norrris’ result to make it four in a row. Even losing to him by one or two places could be enough. Below you can find my Las Vegas Grand Prix 2024 Predictions as the world’s stars gather to see if the Dutch icon can add to his legacy.

Charles Leclerc and Norris are the joint-favourites to win this race at 9/4, while Verstappen is 11/4 to take the chequered flag. Further down the field Carlos Sainz is 6/1, Oscar Piastri is 14/1 and Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are priced at 25/1 to win this race.
In terms of qualifying, Leclerc and Norris lead the way at 2/1, with Verstappen 5/2 and Sainz 6/1 to take pole position. Verstappen is now 1/50 to win the Drivers’ Championship, with Norris out to 16/1.
Lando Norris to be fastest qualifier @ 2/1
It feels like a lifetime ago that Verstappen took pole in the first seven races of the 2024 Formula One season and that rapid start has essentially given him enough of a gap to win the Drivers’ Championship - barring a late collapse. But the form over the second half of the season could set up for an almighty battle for the title in 2025, especially when you add Ferrari and Hamilton into the mix.
However, let’s focus on the here and now, and take a look at just how good another Brit has been in qualifying of late. Norris has now taken pole in six of the last nine races, including another blistering lap in Brazil that saw him start first in Sao Paulo. His sluggish standing starts aren’t even funny anymore, and he rarely leads heading into the first corner, but for one-lap speed, he has proven himself to be pretty difficult to beat since taking his first pole of the season in Spain.
He has the pace to get back on pole here and will be desperate to show the Las Vegas crowd what he can do after a really disappointing session here in 2023. On the strip, he should be able to get back on pole.

Charles Leclerc to win Las Vegas Grand Prix @ 11/4
Despite bigging the McLaren driver up, I’m not going to back him to win this race. I just can’t trust him off the start line plus, Ferrari look well suited to this street circuit and their pace has also improved massively over the second half of the season.
I’m well aware of the threat that Verstappen is likely to pose, but I believe if he is cruising around in fourth or third, and Norris is one or two places in front of him, he won’t want to risk valuable points with risky overtakes. He doesn’t even need to beat the Brit to secure the title, so sticking close to him might be the best gameplan from Christian Horner's perspective.
How I see this one going: Norris takes pole and loses top spot to Leclerc on lap one. The Ferrari driver then races off into the distance as Verstappen attempts to put pressure on the McLarens, but ultimately they settle down quite quickly, with the current world champion knowing how much is on the line.
This could turn out to be a relatively straightforward afternoon for the Monegasque while he is sure to get support from his teammate Sainz, who could also provide a bit of protection from the chasing pack. Leclerc could be a title contender next season along with Hamilton, so it will be interesting to see how strongly he can finish this current campaign. A win in Vegas, having come second here last term, would be pretty special.
