Where to Watch Formula 1 in UK

With the global hit of Netflix show Drive to Survive, Formula 1 has experienced an explosion of interest in recent years, although it has always been a cornerstone of sport in the United Kingdom. 

The most successful Formula 1 driver of all time, Sir Lewis Hamilton, is British, while the current world champion Lando Norris is also from these shores. But where can you watch Formula 1 in the UK? Find out below.

Sky Sports

Sky Sports is the leading broadcaster in the UK when it comes to F1. They have their own dedicated channel, Sky Sports F1, which shows wall-to-wall coverage every race weekend, including free practise, qualifying and Sprint events.

Martin Brundle, Nico Rosberg, and Jenson Button offer expert analysis while Ted Kravitz and Natalie Pinkham bring us the pit-lane chaos and drama. David Croft covers the action from the commentary booth and there is no doubt that Sky Sports lead the way when it comes to F1 coverage in the United Kingdom.

You can get a Sky Sports package through your television provider, with prices varying. Sky Sports recently signed a five-year extension to exclusively host Formula 1 until 2034.

NOW

Another way to access Sky Sports and every F1 race, is to purchase a NOW subscription. They are currently available for around £30 a month on a six-month offer, although prices can increase. It is a flexible way to watch Sky Sports without being tied down to a longer-term contract.

Channel 4

The British Grand Prix was shown live on Channel 4, but that is the only race to be shown live in 2026. However, fortunately Channel 4 do show full race highlights every weekend, so there's plenty of action to catch up on for free, every weekend.

The coverage is pretty extensive, so it is still a great way to get your F1 fix, even if you can't get a Sky Sports package.
