Format
The show starts with lots of auditions that are held across the UK in which performers aim to captivate the judges (Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli) for a place in the live shows.
Each judge has a red buzzer to use if they are displeased with the act, and if all four are pressed, the performance is brought to a premature end.
If an act is allowed to go all the way, the judges then vote to decide whether or not they process, needing a majority.
The four judges, as well as hosts Ant and Dec, each have one opportunity to press the Golden Buzzer, which immediately sends an act through to the live semi-finals.
Once the auditions are concluded, the judges then whittle down the numbers of acts they sent through to determine who will be performing in the semi-finals, which tend to be filled equally with contestants.
Each semi-final sees just two acts advance to the final and the winner is decided by the public vote. The acts that were second and third in the public vote have the chance to go through as well, but their fate is decided by the judges, who vote for their preferred act.
Then in the final, the public vote to crown their winner.
Markets
- Outright winner - Backing an act to win the competition.
- Top 3 - You back an act to finish in the top three. This is if you are unsure on backing on an act to go all the way but think they will fare well in the final.
- Semi-final winners - This is where you bet on acts to win the semi-final live shows for a place in the final.
- Semi-final to qualify - Backing a semi-finalist to qualify for the final. Odds will be lower than backing them to win.
