The Betfred World Matchplay is in full swing and on Tuesday night we have four second round matches. We’ve looked at the match ups and picked out our best bets for the evening, with an acca boosted from just over 12/1 to a massive 16/1!

Betfred World Matchplay Tips

  • Chris Dobey +2.5 Hcp – 20/21
  • Nathan Aspinall to win – 4/6
  • Joe Cullen +3.5 hcp – 8/11
  • Daryl Gurney most 180’s – 7/5

Boosted Acca – 12/1 16/1

Chris Dobey +2.5 Hcp – 20/21

‘Hollywood’ has had a breakthrough year on the main PDC tour, winning his first ever televised final at the Masters, claiming a place in the Premier League line up and rising up to no 11 in the world rankings.

The 33-year-old had a tough first round match up against no 16 seed James Wade, eventually coming through as a 10-8 winner.

Next up is an even tougher assignment against world no. 1 and the number one seed at Blackpool, Michael Smith.

‘Bully Boy’ was absolutely scathing despite his 10-2 demolition of Steve Beaton in the first round and apologised to the crowd for having to sit through it.

Smith averaged just 88 compared to Dobey’s 96 and I think the Newcastle native can push Smith a lot closer here and cover the handicap.

Nathan Aspinall to win – 4/6

Nathan Aspinall has had a tough time of late, suffering injuries which have affected his game and spoke of family issues on stage after his 10-7 win over Krzysztof Ratajski.

He now seems in a good place though, both physically and mentally and should have enough to get past number 8 seed Danny Noppert here.

‘The Asp’ averaged 98 compared to Noppert’s 94 in the first round and had a better checkout percentage. I like his chances to progress.

Joe Cullen +3.5 hcp – 8/11

Joe Cullen looked in fantastic nick in his first round win over Mike de Decker, averaging over 100 with a 47% check out standard.

Next, there is the little matter of Gerwyn Price, who sailed through against a disappointing Stephen Bunting.

‘Rockstar’ can push the ‘Iceman’ hard here and while I think the no 4 seed will eventually get over the line,. I like the Bradford man on the 3.5 game handicap.

Daryl Gurney most 180’s – 7/5

Last game of the night looks one of the most intriguing, as two unseeded players face each other for a place in the quarter finals.

Daryl Gurney pulled off a huge shock against no. 5 seed Rob Cross, after a thrilling 12-10 tie break win.

Meanwhile, Gary Anderson looked in good shape, when beating Dave Chisnall 8-6.

‘The Flying Scotsman’ only managed two maximums in his first round victory, compared to ‘Superchin’s’ six and I’m taking the Northern Irishman to fire in more 180’s here.

The Betfred traders have boosted the four selections in an acca which paid just over 12/1, all the way out to a massive 16/1! You can load it directly to slip below.
