Surrey vs Northamptonshire Prediction: Curran to lead the way for hosts

Surrey have dominated English cricket in recent years, but they have not managed to conquer the T20 Blast since they took the inaugural edition back in 2003.
They did win 11 of their 14 group stage games to top the South Group, however, and are strong favourites coming into Wednesday's quarter-final (18:30 BST, Sky Sports Cricket) at The Oval against Northamptonshire, who somewhat limped over the line in the group stages to sneak fourth in the North Group. Below are my Surrey vs Northamptonshire predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Surrey will be without Mitchell Santner and Nathan Smith through injury, while Adam Zampa, Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton and Will Jacks are all on international duty, so they will also miss out.
For the Steelbacks, South African Matt Breetzke played a key role for them in the group stages, but will miss out with a hamstring injury and be replaced by New Zealand international Tim Robinson. Lloyd Pope will retain his spot in the squad.
Surrey vs Northamptonshire Odds
Surrey are the favourites for this clash, currently priced up at 8/15, while Northamptonshire are available at 6/4.
Ollie Pope and Jason Roy are 7/2 joint-favourites to be Surrey’s top batter, while David Willey and Tim Robinson are 7/2 joint-favourites to lead the way in the same department for Northants.
Sam Curran First Innings Over 18.5 Total Runs @ 5/6
Sam Curran was a crucial part of Oval Invincibles’ Hundred triumph recently, and he will be hoping to carry that form over into this T20 Blast quarter-final.
The all-rounder made 238 runs in eight innings in that competition as his side won their third title in a row.
With some of the other big names in this Surrey squad away on international duty, it looks likely to be the Curran brothers who will have to step up, and Sam could lead the way.
He made 296 runs in the group stages of this competition at an average of 21.14 and is fancied to go over the line of 18.5 runs.

Ben Sanderson Top Northamptonshire Bowler @ 3/1
Ben Sanderson is one of the key reasons that Northamptonshire have made it to this quarter-final as he was crucial to their success in the group stages.
The veteran seamer took 24 wickets at an average of 16.87; only two players took more wickets than that.
He followed that with a solid three wickets from the three Hundred games that he featured in, and he looks like a rock-solid bet to be the visitors’ top bowler once again.
