Surrey vs Hampshire Hawks Prediction: Captain Curran to lead from the front

Surrey once again went off as favourites to win this year's T20 Blast and they opened their account for the campaign with a seven-run success over Glamorgan on Tuesday. Few counties can call on such talent as Surrey, who have a plethora of current and former England internationals in their ranks.
Sam Curran's side are narrow favourites to build on their win in Cardiff at home to Hampshire on Thursday night, but they cannot afford to take the visitors lightly. The Hawks sent out a real statement of intent last week with a 106-run thrashing of Essex in their first Blast match of the summer, so a trip to The Oval shouldn't faze James Vince's visitors. Below you can find my Surrey vs Hampshire Hawks predictions.

Team news
New Zealand white-ball skipper Mitchell Santner has arrived in the country and could make his Surrey debut on Thursday evening.
Santner seems likely to come in for young off-spinner Yousef Majid in Surrey's squad.
Hampshire could name the same 11 who demolished Essex six days ago.
Surrey vs Hampshire Hawks Odds
Surrey are 4/5 to make it two wins on the spin against Hampshire at The Oval on Thursday night, while the Hawks are 1/1 to build on their authoritative opening victory over Essex.
Jason Roy has top-scored for Surrey in both of their matches to date and he is 10/3 to lead the way for the hosts again.
Sam Curran top Surrey runscorer @ 4/1
A stellar spell of bowling from captain Sam Curran helped Surrey defend a modest total of 149/8 on Tuesday but the all-rounder's batting could come to the fore against Hampshire.
Curran has failed to get going with the bat in this year's Blast, scoring only nine against Somerset and then seven in the win in Cardiff, but his only appearance at The Oval this year saw him hit 70 and 77 in a County Championship game against Essex and he was brilliant in the Blast last year, scoring two fifties and an unbeaten 102 in just five T20 appearances in 2024.
Hampshire were the side on the receiving end of his blistering century last July and the Hawks may once again feel the full force of the England star, who said earlier this year he will be doing all he can in 2025 to get back into the international reckoning.

Dewald Brevis over 22.5 runs @ 5/6
South African batsman Dewald Brevis laid the groundwork for Hampshire's dominant win over Essex and he could continue a strong run of recent form in south London.
Brevis cleared the rope six times in a 32-ball 68 at the Rose Bowl and he has been in decent nick for some time now.
The 22-year-old made knocks of 42, 32, nought, 52, 42 and 57 for the Chennai Super Kings in this year's IPL before linking up with the Hawks and he should relish playing at The Oval, where batsmen usually get full value for their shots.
A runs line of 22.5 looks well within Brevis's capabilities.
