Spirit struggling to find balance
Spirit will be looking to bounce back from a tough defeat to Manchester Originals, where only David Warner provided any tempo, with a fluent 71. With skipper Kane Williamson scratching for form - his strike rate was under 100 - and the middle order subdued, Spirit struggled to keep pace chasing 164 and fell 10 runs short..
The bowling attack has shown flashes, Luke Wood and Richard Gleeson especially, but they haven't been able to consistently put pressure on opposing batsmen.
Rockets continue to fly
Rockets continued their perfect start with a five-wicket win over Northern Superchargers. Opener Tom Banton led the scoring with a composed 37 off 25 balls, while the in-form Rehan Ahmed provided crucial support down the order, adding a dynamic 31 from 26.
With the ball, Akeal Hosein and Ahmed starred in the middle overs, each bagging two wickets to stem the Superchargers' progress, while Marcus Stoinis delivered the game's pivotal burst: the Aussie all-rounder took two wickets in two balls to dismantle the key partnership between Harry Brook and Graham Clarke.
Pitch & Conditions
Lord's has been one of the lower scoring venues in the Hundred, with an average first innings score of just under 139. Spirit, in particular, have found it difficult to get runs on the board, getting rolled for 81 by the Invincibles in their opener this year and failing to get past 130 once in 2024. It will be another hot and dry evening in north London, with temperatures of around 26c.
Key Odds
Rockets have looked a very well-balanced unit with plenty of experience throughout the ranks and 4/6 is a fair price for victory here. Spirit have found very few home comforts at Lord's and rate an 11/10 chance.
After a slow start in the opener, Warner has kicked into gear with two big scores and is the 3/1 favourite to top the batting charts for Spirit, ahead of Williamson at 7/2. For the Rockets, Banton and Joe Root head the market at 7/2.
Given the low scores at Lord's it may pay to look down the order; Jamie Overton (16/1 for Spirit) can certainly give it a whack - he hit 19 off just seven last time out - while Ahmed (11/2 for Rockets) has been in fine order across formats all summer.

Best Bets
Backing odds-on shots isn't going to help pay off the mortgage anytime soon, but value is value and Rockets look streets ahead of Spirit so I'm happy to take the 4/6. For a bit of extra interest at a bigger price, I'll combine the in-form Warner and Ahmed to both score 30, available at 9/2 in the #PickYourPunt special markets.
