SRH vs CSK Prediction: Mhatre could be Chennai’s main man

Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Chennai Super Kings in a fascinating IPL clash on Saturday (starts 3pm). Five-time winners Chennai started the 2026 season with three straight defeats before claiming back-to-back home victories against Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
However, CSK face a daunting trip to the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where the Sunrisers thrashed unbeaten visitors Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs on Monday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are 4/5 to follow up their impressive win over Rajasthan with another home victory against 1/1 visitors Chennai Super Kings.
Abhishek Sharma, who has been dismissed for a duck in his first two home games this season, is 3/1 to be the Sunrisers' top batter and his opening partner Travis Head is 3/1.
Team News
Sunrisers Hyderabad should unleash their new-look pace attack after IPL debutants Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain took four wickets each against Rajasthan on Monday.
English fast bowlers Brydon Carse and David Payne have been ruled out for the season and SRH captain Pat Cummins (back) will not be available until the end of April.
Chennai Super Kings veteran MS Dhoni (calf) is targeting a return to action against Mumbai Indians next week.
Left-arm quick Khaleel Ahmed has suffered a season-ending injury so Mukesh Choudhary and Ramakrishna Ghosh are vying for his place in the bowling attack.
Ayush Mhatre to be Chennai Super Kings top batter @ 4/1
Chennai's batters will be on high alert after watching Sunrisers Hyderabad's devastating bowling display against Rajasthan.
The Royals were reduced to 9-5, losing three wickets in Praful Hinge's first over in the IPL, but the Super Kings have some serious talent in their top order.
Sanju Samson is favourite to top-score for the visitors, having powered India to T20 World Cup glory in March.
Samson scored 115 not out and 48 in CSK's home wins over Delhi and Kolkata but he was dismissed for six, seven and nine in his first three innings of the season.
Number three Ayush Mhatre looks a better bet at 4/1. He made a huge impression in the second half of last season, scoring 240 runs from just 127 balls in his first seven IPL games.
That was no flash in the pan as Mhatre made 73, 59 and 38 in Chennai's first three home matches this year and he could cash in on an excellent batting surface in Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad to hit most sixes @ 5/6
The Sunrisers lost their star openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head cheaply against Rajasthan but still managed to hit 15 sixes to the Royals' six.
Abhishek had cleared the ropes eight times in his previous innings, 74 off 28 balls against Punjab Kings, so Hyderabad look a solid bet to hit more sixes than Chennai.
Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen are in good six-hitting form and Aniket Verma, Salil Arora and Nitish Kumar Reddy add power to the middle-order.
Chennai lost the sixes battle 7-5 and 19-11 in their first two away games at Rajasthan and Royal Challengers Bengaluru and it could be a similar story against the Sunrisers.
