PBKS vs LSG Prediction: Kings can keep run going

Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants meet in Mullanpur on Saturday in a clash between two sides heading in very different directions as the 2026 IPL season gathers pace. Punjab have started the campaign with real authority, backing up last year’s run to the final with a string of high‑quality performances.

Wins over Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad have kept them on top of the standings, while only rain denied them a likely victory against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Lucknow have faltered after a solid start, suffering back-to-back losses against the Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru to remain outside the top four. With Punjab’s batting unit in red‑hot form, this shapes up as another stern test for the Super Giants.

PBKS vs LSG Odds

Punjab Kings are 4/7 favourites to continue their strong start, with Lucknow priced at 11/8 to cause an upset.

It’s 4/6 for Punjab to hit the most sixes, while the Kings’ openers are 4/5 to produce the highest opening partnership.

Team News

Punjab have had a settled side this season, using only 12 players through their opening five games.

Priyansh Arya came in for Nehal Wadhera after smashing 39 off 11 balls as an impact player against Chennai and made a half century against SRH. He looks likely to keep his place alongside opener Prabhsimran Singh while captain Shreyas Iyer anchors the middle order with Marcus Stoinis and Marco Jansen providing all‑round balance.

Yuzvendra Chahal remains central to their bowling plans, supported by Arshdeep Singh and Xavier Bartlett with the new ball.

Lucknow batter Nicholas Pooran has been backed to come good by the team management after a string of low scores.

Mitch Marsh, Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary have been the Super Giants’ most productive batters.

PBKS @ 4/7

Punjab have won 13 of their last 19 IPL matches and look one of the most complete sides in the competition. Their top order is firing, their control of the middle overs when fielding has been impressive and their death-bowling has been far more disciplined than in previous seasons.

Lucknow, by contrast, have lacked fluency with the bat and have conceded big totals in three of their last four matches.

Against a Punjab side that has already chased down 196, 210 and 220 this season, they may struggle to keep pace.

Mitchell Marsh – Top Away Team Batter @ 11/4

Marsh top-scored for the LSG in their last match with 40 off 32 balls in Bengaluru. He was one run away from being his side’s leading scorer in their opening game of IPL 2026 too.

The Australian went into the competition with some superb white-ball form after hitting back-to-back half-centuries in the T20 World Cup, smashing 64 and 54 in consecutive games in Pallekele.

With the likes of Rishabh Pant and Pooran struggling to make any impact with the bat, Marsh carries LSG’s main hope of posting a challenging total on Sunday.
