DC vs RR Prediction: Delhi’s capital decline to continue

Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals square off at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday (15:00 BST, Sky Sports Cricket) in a contest that could define the play-off fate of both sides. DC’s three‑wicket win over Punjab Kings in Dharamshala kept their season alive, but their form in the capital remains a major concern.
RR, meanwhile, were humbled by Gujarat Titans last time out after also losing to the Capitals at home earlier this month. Yet they still possess enough firepower to beat anyone on their day. Read on for my DC vs RR predictions.

Team News
Delhi made five changes for the win over PBKS and are expected to stick with the same XI. Abishek Porel and Sahil Parakh opened the batting, while David Miller returned to the middle order with an impressive 51 off 28 balls.
Mitchell Starc remains their strike weapon, although support from Lungi Ngidi and Mukesh Kumar has been inconsistent.
Rajasthan, meanwhile, remain without Riyan Parag, who picked up a hamstring injury while fielding against DC in Jaipur.
Stand-in skipper Yashasvi Jaiswal opens alongside in-form teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi with Shimron Hetmyer now back in favour at four and Ravindra Jadeja part of a strong middle order that can bat deep.
Delhi are the 11/10 underdogs at home, while Rajasthan are priced as 8/11 favourites to bounce back from their defeat to GT.
It’s 7/5 for DC to hit the most sixes and 5/6 for the Royals to produce the Highest Opening Partnership.
RR to win @ 8/11
RR will be desperate to make amends for a poor display against DC in Jaipur a couple of weeks ago and they have the batting firepower to take this return clash by the scruff of the neck.
Jaiswal and Suryavanshi could quickly take the game away from the Capitals if they bat first, although chasing has been very successful at Arun Jaitley Stadium this year.
Delhi have lost eight of their last nine games at the venue and have suffered four consecutive heavy home defeats coming into this clash, suggesting they cannot handle the pitch conditions.
RR’s spin attack has largely controlled the middle overs of their matches this season, which should give them a vital edge against a side whose batting strength lies in their deep middle order.

David Miller Top Home Team Batter @ 5/1
Miller’s return to the DC line-up in the last match was a reminder of his world‑class finishing ability.
He produced a brutal knock of 51 off 28 balls with three fours and four sixes before skying an attempted swipe across the line to extra cover.
Against spin-heavy attacks he thrives, and in a DC line‑up lacking form, he is well‑placed to top score.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Over 1.5 Sixes (1st innings) @ 8/11
Suryavanshi has been in sensational form inside the powerplays as his aggressive batting style takes full advantage of the fielding restrictions.
The teenage phenomenon has smashed 40 sixes in 11 games while scoring 440 runs at a stunning strike-rate of 236.55.
Runs from maximums have made up the greatest share of his scores in six of those 11 IPL innings this year.
Backing Suryavanshi to clear the ropes on at least two occasions on Sunday is an appealing play against a DC side that saw five of their first 14 deliveries against PBKS go the distance.
