Team News

South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi, who suffered a serious head injury playing for the Capitals against Punjab Kings on April 25th, has returned to training after concussion protocols and should return.

Super Kings' bowling all-rounder Ramakrishan Ghosh is out for the season after sustaining a broken foot - on his seasonal debut - in Saturday's win over Mumbai Indians.

Skipper MS Dhoni is back in the nets after a lay-off though it may be too early for him to return.

DC vs CSK Odds

There is nothing to separate the Capitals and Super Kings in the IPL standings and nothing with the layers, either, with Betfred going 10/11 the pair.

Among Betfred's price boosts are 3/1 that all four openers score at least 15 runs and 4/1 a DC win with both teams going over 200 runs.

Delhi Capitals to win @ 10/11

The return to health of Ngidi and the arrival of Mitchell Starc might just be the difference between the Capitals' season drifting into bottom-half gloom and a genuine shot at the play-offs.

Starc's debut at the weekend inspired the capital franchise to a fine seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals, successfully chasing down 225-6 with five balls to spare.

Aussie leftie Starc took 3-40 and could prove to be a real difference maker, both against the Super Kings in Match 48 and also in the race to the line for a top-four spot.

And then there's the return from a nasty head injury of Ngidi, who took seven wickets in his first five matches and which is a welcome returnee for skipper Axar Patel.

Suddenly DC's pace attack looks perfectly balanced, while Pathum Nissanka added to the feelgood factor in Delhi by clubbing his first half-century of the campaign against the Royals, easing the pressure on the outstanding KL Rahul.

Tristan Stubbs over 1.5 fours @ 10/11

Tristan Stubbs helped to see the Capitals home against RR at the weekend, hitting a four and a six in an 11-ball 18 not out as DC won by seven wickets.

The South African is having a tidy season with the bat, with two scores of 60, the first against the Super Kings in the reverse fixture back on April 11.

Stubbs has scored 219 runs in eight knocks, with 16 fours and is well worth taking to hit at least one against CSK in front of his own supporters.
